    in XI SE also called those jobs you unlocked "Extra Jobs" not "Advanced Jobs" the players were the ones that started to call them advanced jobs.
    that one always bothered me because if they were infact advanced jobs they would have been more advanced versions of the existing jobs not totally something else.
    in XI you have 22 jobs most if which have little to do with eachother and are unique.


    in XIV we have
    6 DoW classes that evolve into 6 DoM jobs
    3 DoM classes that evolve into 4 DoM jobs

    which means if we got rid of the classes we would end up with 10 DoW/DoM jobs + the 3 new ones.
    some of you worry about lore. well I'm most confident they could make a whole new lore around it that would make it make sense

    no I didnt forget the DoH/DoL classes, fairly confident not much needs to be done to those

    They're mostly in a good spot, except for Fishing, which needs to be completely redone. lol

    Lore doesn't need to be thrown out the window, but it can very easily evolve. Look at the difference between 1.0 and 2.0. Back in 1.0, everyone and their freakin' dog had the Echo. Every player, and every players path companions, even all of the NPC's involved in Minfilia's group had access to this power. Now, suddenly, in 2.0, the Echo is a rare power gifted only to those who are chosen by Hydaelyn as champions or saviors, or... something. Similarly, the awakening of the Keeper of the Lake could send Aetherial shockwaves, stirring powers in adventurers across the realms! This could explain why we see a bunch of DRG's in the cinematic when there's only supposed to be one at a time.
