    Social FC`s

Recently I came back into the game (almost 2 months ago) from a break of over 8 months and I noticed that something was different.
I wandered from quite a few guilds and it seems that all of them are all about Coil, it`s like there is nothing else in the game especially if you go through the forum posts in all the servers.
You can try a social guild but are lot of them are hardly what I would call social, yes some of them have an active chat but it seems that goes about it, players hardly party together and some people hardly talk (everyone just goes about their business about playing the game alone) when they do party it seems it is just to help out and sometimes players have to ask for help several times.
On a game such as this in this day and age it seems that it would be easy to run events in a guild making the game more sociable. I realize that things such as the Duty Finder make the game possible to be played by soloing but it still sadness me to see it happen on a great game like Final Fantasy.
Quite a few years ago guild leaders made sure to make a system in a guild where the players in it were actually rewarded like giving gifts for achieving certain goals and reward the most helpful players that contribute to the guild and other players in the guild. They used to make events in game even though games back there did not had the systems to help make this.
On this game is possible to make so many events and things like treasure hunting, fate hunting, racing, hide and seek, trivia quiz (an old one), HUNTS events, chocobo party, and many others with the features and things that SE keeps adding yet it seems that nothing of this happens.
Do people these days no longer know how to make a social guild or I`m having no luck in finding one ?
Where are the social guilds in this game ?

There is a very skewed Mentality when it comes to how FC's should Function vs. How a LS should function. Some people have the general ideal completely backwards. While I think a FC that has raid groups is great and all in the end FC's are made for the social aspect of the game. They have so many incredible social tools and 4x the Capacity of a Linkshell. My FC is personally geared towards a Social/Mentoring environment (With a solid aspect about raiding as well but a good social environment is top priority) but I know a lot of FC's that just recruit members for raids, which I think is a waste of FC potential .

Sadly I wish I could offer some insight on this matter but the Roleplaying community is a different beast all together. We're highly social, everything from trying to get content done to trying to get together for roleplays. Just between raids and RPS alone we get together four times a week. We're actually discussing on how we can participate on some of the more open events going on hosted by other groups due to how busy our schedule is now. x.x

    So yeah, can't really relate.

I've been trying to build my fc on the aspect of being a social fc. Along with progression as a whole company.

If you can't find the kind of free company you want, i suggest making it.

This exactly. If you want a social FC, lead by example. Be engaging. Organize events. Set up full 24-person Syrcus Tower runs, Sands awarded at the end to whoever gets turned into a frog on the Amon fight and takes out the most players with their frog breath. Sometimes it's fun to do something completely silly just for fun. The point is, if you can't find what you're looking for, create it - chances are there are others looking for it, too. Good luck!

It does seem like being social is in the minority on Brynhildr... I'm working on building a Roleplaying free company and extended community on Brynhildr and it's not easy... But we haven't advertised that much since we're working on setting up a house for RP scenarios and everything... 2 million to go! Then we'll need to furnish it >_> My brother h as a very social FC on Lamia called Apocalypse <Bane> and they have halloween parties and everything. It's actually a lot of work to spearhead a free company and even harder to keep people active and gathering enough members. Having a truly social company that really gets along is pretty hard sometimes. A lot of the people in my company have jumped from other companies for being too hardcore and looking down on people that are more casual and not rushing to end game raid content... So we kinda look down on that kind of behaviour. We do want to do end game raids, but we just don't like the atmosphere that those people give off.

There seems to be a growing obsession with coil. Recently my own static broke, and as a result, I had a VERY relaxing holiday season (despite wanting to try FCoB), who knew the stress coils could give! My FC is actually a social based one, I make it a rule to not have FC based coil teams, cause that breeds drama and trouble like no other, also leaves people out. We all seek coil teams outside the FC and it works wonderfully.

There seemed to be very little social FCs, but we found out a lot of FCs in our social district were rather social, we have parties in the central market area and do all sorts of dumb stuff! I honestly thing the social niche is catching back on again.

The FC (well the LS, we're allied with another FC and dont limit people by whether they want to join our FC specifically) I have is very social. There's always people talking, we don't just spam invite people but there's always a steady stream of newcomers (meaning we have to constantly remove inactive people) and lots of people do events together. Someone asks 'anyone want to do this dungeon with me?' quite often more people than is needed offer to help. We regularly help people catch up on content or get people their clears and try to organise ourselves around what jobs people have and want to play, rather than making someone play something specifically because it's the best.

Quite often people tell me they haven't found any other group like it, I wouldnt know since aside from our group's alt Hunt LS, I've never had any reason to use another LS or look for a different FC, but apparently these sorts of groups are rare these days. The ease of getting into the game and the duty finder is great in that it makes it simple for new players, but it does also mean people dont rely on their groups or have much reason to befriend them these days.
