is it true that you can play the game and rank your conjurer from rank 1?

Lolz, I have multiple 50's why do you care what I list as my main character?
I'm deleting all of them and transfering their gil all over to a new character once I can play as a Female Roegadyn which is what my presented main character on the forums is supposed to indicate.
