Been awhile since a ragequit thread. Cyas!I am done, insane relic quest lines, waiting hours for fate spawns for books/allied seals, no easier mode for raid content so I can see the whole game, crafting items that take a million mats to do.
Listen most of us have real jobs we have to work and a life we want to live , I am casual but I also want to see all the content I am paying 18+ dollars a month for. I don't pay this to sit and wait for some stupid fate to pop for 2 hours AFTER I GET OUT OF WORK!!!!
I am taking my money elsewhere maybe the 10% of hardcore players that love camping and grinding will be able to pay your salaries.

The "million mats" thing sticks out to me.
No single item in the game requires more than 8 individual items (2 crystals+6 materials) to make.
Compare to other MMOs where it wasn't unusual for some items to require 12 or more items to make, some of which were subcombines on their own...we're spoiled.
Seriously, and I mean this with kindness, if you can't handle the tedious aspects of FFXIV, you are not going to be able to handle other MMOs. There's a reason FFXIV is called, both derisively and not, a "theme park" or "gateway" MMO.
This is the way the entire genre is built because, unlike single player games where the goal is just to get you to buy it, an MMO has to keep you playing. Introducing new, fresh, interesting content is always what everyone involved really wants, but it takes time to create and polish. And the game still has to produce money in that time.
Thus, the necessity of a grind and gated content. Again this isn't some sort of silly design decision by a single company, it's a lifeblood backbone of the theme park MMO subgenre (MMORPGs are broken into "Sandbox," such as SWG, Arche Age, and EVE; and "Theme Park" which is FFXIV, FFXI, EQ1+2, and WoW)
If you don't like it, then the genre is not for you.

OP if you think the books are bad, seriously abandon the questline now.
I'm not even joking. The books and their requirements are horrid, yes. But it gets worse and worse with each step. Do yourself a favor and quit before you spend anymore time on the relic quest.

the light portion isn't technically that bad. Almost anything you could do progresses it, it just takes a long time.
Unless you want to farm it of course.

But he's complaining about wasting 2 hours of his time waiting on a fate....
I hated light farming personally. It was the worst part about the relic questline so far imo, and I did it while light parties were still a thing. I couldn't imagine starting it now and not having a shit ton of other people to spam primals over and over for hours with. DF would just take forever.
Many peoples say this and i dont understand why, light part was best part in whole chain as there was zero RNG and no artificial time limits. Bacially you could get it done in one go unlike every other step.

By 'one go' you mean 500 Garuda HMs during bonus light session, right?

Why are so many people so entitled to "see" the content "they" are paying for, i always though games where there to challange you or somthing you want to spend time on?
There is alot of things in life that is hard to allocate time to. I just wonder can this be applied to rest of life too? can i go to a school pay the fee and get entitled to top grades cus i payed the fee? or maybe i should buy tickets to some movie at the cinema and demand they come home to my house and show the movie to me becuse i dont have time to go there to see it there?
Me and many others will not finnish every single thing in the game and i bet most of us are fine with it cus we pay for it and its there if we feel we wanna try to do it. And yes i know my english is bad, apparantly english was not somthing i was entitled to either, maybe i forgot to pay some fee somwhere.
