Have you guys noticed when there's an overly dramatic post, you look at the poster's portrait and it's almost always a Lalafell? What's up with that?

Big things come in little packages, in this case, the big thing is a mouth.
I'm sorry, "people who aren't worth playing it?" That's the same thing that elitists say about casuals. And it's not a good line of thought. On the bright side, with this subscription system, it filters away those people who aren't worth playing it. I mean, look at people who play FREE TO PLAY games. Most are ill-mannered, imagine Dota 2(SEA server). FFXIV has a friendly community than any other games I played with.
Besides, this game does have a very fair share of people that are just as ill-mannered. Do you know how many times I've been told that I should know how to clear stuff less than 24 hours after release? I'm actually too scared to run new content for the first time unless I have a tank or healer friend with me to somewhat hold a party back if they feel like attacking me because I didn't know that I had to do something special. Many people feel they don't have the time to waste for new people, which is one of the reasons I did level a tank because I'm going to take time to explain things to new people! If you want to fight the boss because you don't want to waste time, go ahead little DPS or heals, I'll sit behind the gate!
On topic though, I understand the tedium. I did my first atmas pre-nerf. I have very little tolerance for tedium or waiting around though, so I set a limit of 2-3 hours each day when I can afford the time. That way I can still feel that I make progress with something else. During my FATE camping for animus, I either crafted or played some game on my 3DS, or went around the intertubes watching videos or something. Never concentrate on one thing, it'll drive you crazy. This is coming from someone that spent three months obsessing over learning ToDs and making friends with endgamers in an attempt to get the black belt in FFXI, and I had to spend time earning money when I had to bargain for items. Just drove me mad.
No but I do notice how many people who say they don't care and goodbye posts but they care enough to come in and attack person that is leaving, they are leaving what do they care what anyone says.
I believe I once said something before but realized its actually dumb to comment on goodbye post anymore, read it get half way to where they say they quit and then choose another topic to read.
If I quit I wont say nothing, even if I have a problem with the game.
Devs will not fix the issues they have with game waste of time explaining the reason you leave.
People will destroy you in comments if you say anything.
Its not even worth it.
The only point I agree with the OP is about having to camp fates for the relic quest (not everyone is unemployed and likes/can afk in their basement while watching series). That's indeed dumb. The rest of his complaints are however not valid imo.
I just started playing and I know enough to know that a good chunk of lalafells aren't the calm type
I take what I like and I like what I take!
