    Fresh 50 war new player

Well been playing 3 months, i spend most my time crafting but decided to level warrior.

Had no issues with it until now, 50+ dungeon runs are just so painful for me right now. I have always tried to be a considerate tank but after my first day of doing the hard versions i tempted to stop.
Really struggled at the moment to hold hate my ilvl is very low compared to experienced players, just been getting lots and lotd of abuse omgnoob tank etc etc. My first brayflox run was smooth managed to speed run the map thanks to an epic healer but since that 1 party its horrible.
If i pull a couple of mobs at a time people run off and bring the rest of the map to me, 1v1 on a mob i have no chance, will voke it off them > double inner beast flash everything i have and boom i still lose hate.
Just got my zenith relic and will be crafting a full set of i70 gear tonight in the hope that helps.
just a rant really that is all

I would check rotations for warrior online to see if you are at least using those that help generate hate. I use a lot of overpower and flash and it does the job getting their attention. Also I would suggest you run these dungeons with friends if possible. Tanking takes experience and some randoms can be really jerks. I for the most part tank with my friends. Tanking is hard and it can draw a lot of abuse if you're not living up to the standards of some.

    a) Best bet for you is to start farming gear. If you don't like dungeons which need one tank... Then you should run dungeons which need more than one tank.
    CM/Praetorium for Solderies
CT for entry gear (if anyone is still doing it)
    ST for Gear/Solderies/Poes.

    b) You said you were wasting time on crafting? Then craft your gear.

    c) You said you were wasting time on crafting? Then buy your gear.

Sorry about your terrible experience into post 50 content so far. Only advice I can really give is to just ignore the elitist whines and stay focused on the task at hand.

As a tank you set the pace, if dps/healers are pulling extra mobs that you aren't comfortable handling, let them tank them, if they die? well it was a painful lesson for them. Also if you notice that you are having trouble holding aggro even on small pulls, and healer can't keep dps up as a result, maybe try asking them to hold back a little (mnk drop FoF, drg skip heavy thrust, etc). Doesn't matter how much they whine about it, dps with an ilvl115+ weapon and appropriate gear that is going all out, will steal enmity from even he most skilled tank if they're in sub ilvl80 gear and an ilvl90 weapon. So it's up to the dps to help you keep enmity, or leave if they don't want to take the extra 5 min it'll take to complete the run.

I understand where you come from, tank was my first class and I still remember the early 50 was atrocious, mainly because a lot of experienced players tend to forget that they weren't able to hold aggro when they first got to lvl 50.

All I can say is that you should keep at it. Tanks are often the easy target to abuse, but keep trying. Explain to your team that you're undegeared and cannot speed run anything. If they try to force you, ignore them. You are the tank, you decide if you want to pull big or small. If they bring you half the dungeon and you know you can't hold it, let them die. It's hard, but there's no way around it.

In the end, they'll probably have to submit since they won't be willing to wait half an hour for another tank. Early tanking is tough and you'll suffer no matter what, but it quickly gets easier.

Seems like you need to learn WAR, not to use it, but how others want you to use it, and that's not your bigger problem, if your ilvl is too low you won't be able to keep the monsters on you.

Tanking for the first time is hard, and making a tank your first battle job makes it even harder, and more ppl will realize with the addition of DRK which seems very popular.

If the DPS has significantly higher gear it won't matter too much, unfortunately. It's really hard to keep hate when you're an undergeared tank. His best bet is to probably run Syrcus a few times and see if he can get the i110 war axe from Soldiery. That should help leaps and bounds till he can get some better gear. Syrcus i100 gear should be a big help too, assuming of course, he is able to get into Syrcus when he gets his gear crafted. It's really nice that at least he knows how to pull enmity... I was in 2 groups this evening leveling Ninja where the tanks somehow felt that flashing once (for the entire fight) was enough to keep hate... Heck one didn't even seem to know how to use shield lob on gladiator... (he was a level 35 gladiator too now that I think about it... >.>; )

Best advice OP: Find yourself a nice, friendly, "my pace" FC. Group with them. Get geared. Then group with randoms.
