Apparently it's suspicious to go AFK. Then they lock your account for an investigation.

I don't get it. Most games nowdays log the players... They don't suspend their accounts.

Most people woudn't know this, and they need to, to avoid this kind of thing.

The whole thing is ridiculous.

The common way to see if people are botting is for a GM to send a tell, the thought is that if you see a GM tell you would reply, if this happened to you, you must have been doing somthing sucpicious because an account has to go through investigations before you can get a ban.

Investigations include looking at what you have been doing through chat logs (SE has access to all chat logs), a GM talking to you while you are in jail and other things.

If you got your account suspended GMs would have spoken to you and you should know exactly why, just going afk isnt reason to suspend an account so you must have been crafting or fishing or somthing and not replied to a GM tell, which lead to them suspecting you of botting or somthing

This is the only time I have heard of an account getting locked for afk, somone must have reported you for botting people on ffxiv think people bot just because you dont reply to a tell from them.

Anyway, I go afk all the time, sometimes for 24+ hours, and this has never happened to me.

I really don't think someone with a small handful of jobs in the teens could possibly be suspected of botting. You can reach that in a matter of hours. The OP possibly got the account locked out by logging in at a remote location. This happens if you take your laptop to a new wi-fi or log in at a friends hours ect.

I dont think GM's are out and about sending tells to folks to see if they are botting. Even if they did, I don't see anywhere in the ToS that says you owe anyone a response if they send you a tell. And I certainly haven't heard any "Official" statements from the DEV's warning people they need to respond to GM's. Honestly I think they have more important things to do than bot check. Its probably something innocent and routine. Id contact customer service.
