To Ivalice fans...SPOILER ALERT

As a fan of Ivalice world i got big hope that FFXIV will be set in Ivalice but as all know that not happen,hovewer,after looking at some question and answer given by the producers and watching ending cinematic i start to think about future connection between those two worlds like in wow Azeroth and Draenor.

Most important is what Yoshida say:
Yoshida: We’ll be revealing more as we move forward.
What he meant?


Second, the ending and the ZODIARK mentioned by the Ascians.....Zodiark only appear in FFXII, FFT and FFTA2, yes all those games take place in Ivalice.

What you guys think about this, is there hope for some kind of "Dark Portal" between those two worlds??

Isn't Eorzea just the name of the continent we are on? Ivalice could be a continent out there somewhere.

Eorzea is the name of a region. The name of the continent is Aldenard, I believe.

Sometimes mistakenly referred to as a "continent", Eorzea is more properly a realm, comprised of Aldenard, the westernmost of the Three Great Continents, and its surrounding islands, including most notably, Vylbrand.

Lightning got somehow this power

Lightning is sent places with no knowledge of how she got there. atleast the event for FFXIV was that way. not sure what control she gains if any to this power in XIII

The development team have stated in the past that Hydaelyn has no direct connection with any other FF world - yes, there are references to things in past FF games, but they're just references for fanservice and are not 'proof' that Hyaedlyn is Ivalice/Coccoon/Vana'diel/The Planet/<insert other random FF world here>. That link you mentioned is best taken in context with a much earlier Q@A reply Bayohne posted (the link for which has sadly disappeared, which was formerly found here, but I saved it for posterity):

So, when you read that with this latest video comment from Yoshi, all that means is that as far as the game's story is concerned, it's just a reference to a past FF game and that the Zodiark here has no connection to the Ivalice games. It's just a name (like each Cid being a unique character in every FF title).

a fucked up justification that would not really be feasible with FFxii though. Noone in Ivalice that I know of has the the power to travel through dimensions or through the void.

Lightning got somehow this power, shantotto (or whatever the spelling is) invented dimensional travel, and Gilgamesh was sent into the void in his own game.

The only total BS direct reference I can think of is Ultros, who doesn't have any reason to come here. Yeah they can justify it by "it's an other Ultros in an other world with the exact same design and exact same friend Chuppon" but well...


side note : The fight and Hildibrand story behind Ultros is really fun and cool. It's just that his presence here doesn't make any sense

But yeah, would be the same thing if odin wasn't a summon.
