I want to know what happens with our dear K'Lyhia and her wandering Guildmaster; and if Aldis and Mylla... reconcile!

Personally, I feel they should have made the soul crystal more like a special skill tree. Do some job related quests for lore and abilities. Then level up the soul crystal to increase the job related stat boosts while enhancing and adding new traits and abilities from that job through it. Then to grow the job you can add more ability/lore quests and add to the job tree for expansion's of the job. Some may require other classes or job abilities to be unlocked/ or leveled before having them unlocked on pld.

Since there's that whole lv 60 thing. How about for classes once we hit lv50 we do a chapter 2 of lore where the requirement increases via average ilevel. Gladiator (example) would be an increase to their traits and ability to tank with out the need of a Pld soul crystal. Ex: Headbut-an ability stun like leg sweep, phalanx for the defence increase, flat blade, vorpal blade, an aoe atk. Other abilities for hate control, enhanced awareness, etc. Have some of the increased abilities or traits be for Gld only. Then jobs like Pld could only get base access to some of them.

Lore wise Raubahn is a champion gladiator and wears a variation of gladiator gear. We could be learning more about being a gladiator from him as a way to prepare the next generation for any future expansions. In effect start at i50, i55, i60, so on, and progress up to when ever. Then fight him in the arena and in the process get a full custom i90 Gladiator set crafted like his. Right there would be a half decent example to make class more relevant. Each class could have something like that.

Like for Pgl we could go back to Holy Fist who then thinks <player> might be able to help him perfect a technique/art he's spent the later half of his life trying to create or master (I don't know.. Senjutsu, or way of the fist, ... the receiving end of a ??? wooping by XIV's version of Maat or something)
