Should SE do something for people who missed their weddings due to PSN?

With PSN a being down, a lot of people have missed their weddings. The worst part is many of those people logged in at like 2am to schedule their weddings, and are now looking at logging in at 2am again to reschedule.

I understand that this is Sony's fault, not SE's, but I think a little gesture from SE would go a long way for people who are upset. I'm not sure what would be most appropriate, probably some sort of in-game goodie or a voucher for an in-game item from the cash shop.

I'm not sure how practical it is from a logistical standpoint, but I am just throwing that out there as a suggestion.

*Don't argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yeah but GTA extended their Christmas event for PSN players even though it wasn't a Rockstar issue so point is ?

I think a full refund would be appropriate.

If they do anything, it'll most likely be waiving the 2 week reschedule penalty. Don't see SE giving anyone their money back, especially since I'm sure many people don't want give up on trying to set a date yet.

I don't see how a refund would be necessary considering they can STILL get married, just not on the date they originally intended. Plus that would be a lot more trouble than...

This is so far and away not SE's fault in the slightest that anything they offer is just a sign of good faith. I agree waiving the penalty would be the best idea (although given the timing of the downtime the poor folks are already out a week.) but it's up to the company's discretion.
If nothing else it should be an incentive for Sony to allow games like FFXIV to sign in without PSN, as they're probably getting incessant "WE MISSED OUR WEDDING BECAUSE OF YOOOOU!" emails.

I think something should be done, it makes a company approachable when their response to unfortunate circumstances (moreover not the customers fault, maybe not the business's either but a business partner) when their response is not "Tough Titty".

So I think a compensation would be a good idea of PR. No one, at least myself, likes the friend who gives no shits (businesses are technically not consumers friends, but it is an appreciated appearance - Amazon, Costco, and places like Nordstrom are my favorite places to shop because of it). I commiserate lol- if you don't that's fine, but then when you get tossed under the bus I will watch instead of help :P. I'm not sure what options SE has realistically available to them but no penalty, refund, or something sounds good.

There's a 2 week "penalty" if you miss a date, which given the time frame means that those that missed their xmas wedding essentially have to wait til mid-late january to get a a chance at a date.

Kind of a soapbox moment but so much of this could be avoided if they'd just open a couple more venues...
Not the downtime thing, the oncoming onslaught of reservations because of those who got shafted AND those who want one of their own competing for an exceedingly small number of slots.

I just think it would be a chance to reset the whole thing should they feel they should reconsider.
    Like as an option.
