    An idea for mitigating in-game issues caused by PSN outages.

    PSN goes down for a variety of reasons, the latest being DDoS attacks.
    Previously, failing to log in for a day only really cost you your daily quests or daily roulette bonuses.
    But now, we have the Garden. Unfortunately, the Garden requires constant attention. Failure to provide this attention can cause massive losses to affected players.

    So heres my proposal;
    -When PSN fails for any reason, Square Enix determines (based on there own criteria) whether the issue can be resolved inside 24 hours on Sony's side.

    -When Square Enix determines an outage in excess of 24 hours is likely, they generate a {PCmaster race Account Guest Pass} and apply it to any account that has a Playstation 3/4 registered to it, but does NOT have a PC account there already.

    -The Guest Pass has a timer. This timer would be set by Square based on how long they think the outage will be. If the outage extends beyond the Guest Pass timer, it can be reapplied by Square until such a time as PSN comes back.
    This kind of measure would allow Playstation Players to access the game either on their own PC or a friends PC, in order to deal with things like the Garden, Daily Roulettes, Relic upgrade daily limits or really anything on a 24 hour timer.

    What do Playstation players and/or Devs think of such a proposal?

    Not all players have PC hardware capable of running the FFXIV client, and downloading it takes time as well. However, your suggestion of a "PC Guest Pass" sounds like a good idea. It would not be necessary to separately apply a pass to each account if Square Enix has a way to universally disable the PC license entitlement check.

    For practical purposes however, PC licenses are already practically free or even better. They are purchasable in the NA region for as little as $10 and come with 30 days game time which is worth $10 to $15 itself (Legacy pays $10 a month, 30 days Standard sub is $15). Many players have indeed taken advantage of this during the recent PSN℠ outage.

    FFXIV PC is not that demanding. It won't the best but it will still run, unless you have a toaster from the early 2000's.
