Not entirely on-topic since you guys are talking desktop cards from what I can tell, but this is a warning to other people who may be in my situation.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio laptop with a GTS 250M and the card burned out a few weeks ago.

I don't know anything about the temperature it runs at or anything, but if you've come to this thread and you have this card, get a good cooling solution immediately. A good laptop cooling pad will run you $50+, but replacing a laptop card will cost you far more. If you have this card and you play for several hours at a time without a cooling pad, you will burn your card out.

Before Patch 1.19 I was running at a stable 85°C on my 260M. However, as I booted the game up today after Patch 1.19 I noticed my GPU peaked at 104°C! I turned on my cooling pad on high and it couldn't even bring the temperature down a single degree! The only relatively safe place where temperatures were high (but not high risk of burning out) was in the Market Wards...

Well for me Temps are down, as is GPU load a few % in some places others a 50% drop in load so a good 5*c on temps.

Cap your FPS if you are worried to 30, not 60.. should cool you off easy.

GPU load is also up a bit more here. I tried out the fps capping earlier before the usual 30002 every ten minutes error. No discernible difference in temperatures. Still ranging from 100°C to 104°C in city-states and camps.
