Also before I leave this thread I'd say go with the 460 like you said for $100 or less in some places it really is the best bang for the buck and will easily handle a generation or two more of games.
I agree this game going to be upgrade to DX10 sooner or later or at least the game would look better when new areas come out in a pack. So his card can't really handle the game in the new areas which would have higher specs then the the starting specs. Like in FFXI they had to lower the specs for sea due to the ps2 i wish the PC version was not touch on this. At least SE said for ffxiv the specs for PC would go up and the PS3 would stay the same.

So it be best for you to just upgrade SE is not going to fix the issue anytime soon so you better just get a new video card if you want to go on playing FFXIV. The 450gts at least that i know of does not have heat issue and i know a few who have 460 without issue. If not then just quit and wait for them to fix it lol but it wont be anytime soon that for sure that would take longer then adding 10 new dungeons 20 new HNM 20 new NM and loads of quest fixing the core issue and servers issue going to take a while.

I hoping by patch 1.25-2.26 we see this fixed or sooner.
