Enmity Meter: Add a Gold Star

Hey folks! You know how there is the secondary Enmity meter that changes color and shape depending on the amount of enmity an enemy has? This meter is useful for tanks who are focusing fire on a single enemy or boss.

The Problem: There is only one symbol that means you have the highest enmity. One symbol down means you don't have enmity, but you're close to getting it.

The Solution: Add a new symbol: The Gold Star. This will symbolize a significant lead (20%+) on enmity vs. other players and will be a step up from the flashing red square.

Thoughts? It's a relatively small add, but a very useful QoL for tanks.

I mean, it would be fine if they did add it as it wouldn't really harm anyone, but there is an indicator next to each person's name in the party list that shows just how much enmity they have on said monster compared to you. I'm not sure why anyone would need a gold star to verify that. Though I do think the idea of a gold star for enmity is cute and I would be cool with them changing the red symbol to a gold star. :P

I'd rather a symbol that tells you you're close to losing it than one that tells you you have a significant lead. Maybe have the symbol stay red but change to the shape of the orange symbol. So you can know someone is nipping at your heels on enmity.

You could make a game where all you did was run through fields of flowers holding hands and you'd still get a guy telling you you're doing it wrong.

just make it backwards for tanks.
green (high aggro) -> yellow (med aggro) -> orange (losing aggro) -> red (lost aggro)

I think you misunderstood. There are two enmity meters. One is in the party list next to the HP and is very accurate, but only works for the monster that is hard-targeted. There is another one in the enemy list that changes colored symbols depending on enmity generated.

Assuming you're tanking multiple mobs, aggro on all of them should be roughly the same. If you're fighting 2-3 you can tab target between them to check enmity (which you should do anyway to spread your aggro combo). I suppose it could help in T12 for Bennus due to how the mechanic works in that phase but outside of that I can't see the gold star being beneficial. I'm open to hear examples of it, though - not trying to write off your idea just dunno if it's a necessary QoL thing.

It's a decent idea but 20% is too much of a margin, people can be within that margin but not really be a threat. Having the threat lights update as fast as threat meters in the party list would be a better QoL update.

Single-target attacks and auto-attacks can cause wild fluctuations on each enemy in a group. Even with aoe's, any critical hits in the mess will immediately bump up the user's enmity on those targets, but not the rest. You also can't soft tab through the enemies to see how much they have at a glance. You have to hard target, which can change your facing, which then changes the order that the target marker tabs around, which can make it a pain just to get back to an enemy that's suddenly a blinking orange arrow (or worse, a yellow arrow) instead of a square because you took too long looking at other things.

I would really love to have that soft target show the enmity so that I can stay on my current target (and continue auto-attacks if nothing else) if the rest are still doing okay. It would also help me decide faster what's a priority for Savage and Halone when I'm swapping between two to four trash mobs. Alternatively, having a reverse threat meter (preferably with different symbols/colors) would also help with hate tracking.

Agree with OP, but maybe something more like within 10% is good. Mostly this would be for out of party related stuff. Yes I can see who has aggro in my PT, but my alliance? Or random people during fates? I'd like to know more 'bout that.

Alternatively, I'd love to see some stuff that's only visible to tanks. SOmething like the cover "chain" that goes between a mob and the tank and have it be a solid "strong" color when I have aggro with each particular mob and change color/shake/"show it's about to break" when losing aggro.

A number, or percentage, would be even simpler.
