PS4 upgrade with PSN down

yes yes, tons of threads on PSN being down already... but... this case.. I really need a GM answer to this, in case PSN remains down through New Years...

Yesterday I get up early and open my gifts to see a PS4, which absolutely made my day. I ran to do the free upgrade to the PS4 just moments before everything went to hell and a hand-grenade because of the DDoS attack.

So now i can't get into the PSN at all to redeem the code and download the game on a brand new system and am afraid that I wont get the chance to redeem it and be out of playing a game I love.

I don't mind loosing sub days, i have gone a week without playing, it's not an issue to me. I also spend enough money on this already that I'd rather not shell out more to buy another copy of a game I already have and could access before this when I will have to be away for two months come March for Boot Camp.

If it wasn't for this one thing about the upgrade and the attack. I'd be happy as can be knowing when I get done with boot camp and training I have several updates and an expansion waiting for me.

NOTE: Anyone else who may have attempted the free upgrade before or during the PSN can and should comment here or Like to get the Devs attention and a possible answer sooner!

The free upgrade campaign was extended by 3 months to the end of March about a month ago, so no worries there.

Well, yea I know it was extended. My issue is more the fact that on the 25th before the attack I went and did the upgrade. Meaning I now have the code for it and the time on said code is ticking away.

I have till the 31 to use the code and download the game onto my new ps4

I can't believe it will be down for another five days. That's a bit extreme. If by some extraordinary occurrence it is, I would write to Sony and request a new code. Considering it's their own error that caused it, they should be agreeable.

It's the holidays still and this is not a tech support forum in case you didn't notice. Make a ticket using SEs support site. There's not much you can do anyway since PSN is down and it's only Sony who can fix it.
