Housing Suggestion: Folding Screen Furnishing

So, it just hit me; wouldn't it be a neat idea to have a folding screen as a furnishing?


But WAIT! I'm not done! With the implementation of the shower stand and the ability to click it to turn it on and off; would it not be interesting to be able to click the screen to fold it up to where it gives access to something hidden or blocked off?

This would give us a step in the right direction to adding doors to FC/Personal houses within the home itself. Allowing us to block off certain rooms with just a simple click.

What is everyone's idea on this? Feedback? Further Suggestions?

It would be neat to have more types of screens, yes =)
But if you were thinking of the "blocking off" function to be anywhere close to similar to the personal rooms you can buy and then lock for other people than yourself, it wouldn't work ^^; You can, after all, walk through any and all furniture if you walk towards it the right way. Which means that even non-FC members would be able to get through the blocking screen without "opening" it =) As a decorative immersion/RP heightener, however, it would be nice =)

I don't think that is the point the op was getting at. This feature would allow for further room separation with folding screens and interactional doors. It's not meant for privacy but more for a visual and interactive separation that can be used for screenshots and roleplaying. I think it's a great idea.

This is exactly what I was getting at.

I know there are many people who own Personal Houses, Free Companies and Free company private rooms who put up walls to separate rooms who would like the use of doors for an RP sense or a more complete look.

I agree! My personal house; a medium, has all sorts of walls put up to separate rooms and I have to use Mahogany Screens as temporary doors until something better is added. It's really annoying to have to go into the housing interface to slide the screen off to the side to "open" the room up; or when you're just being lazy you run into it till you go through it.

I just think SE has opened up a world of new possibilities for housing with having items you right click in your house turning on or off with a click of a button. Add doors/sliding screens, SE!

The Sylph Screen is a folding screen type furnishing. Only the Morbol Screen has two different versions(open and closed).

Huh I didn't know the Morbol screen could close.. Well in this case there need to be more of these!

There is only one version of the morbol screen and I have one and did not notice a way to click and close it.
