Please Code The Launcher To Work Independently of PSN

Dear Square-Enix,

Please recode the launcher for Final Fantasy XIV to work independently of PSN, similar to Netflix or other internet-related content. It's obvious the game itself can run independently of PSN since many of us can still play when PSN is down. Please allow the launcher to work in a similar fashion!

Sony wont allow it. Consoles are closed platforms and anything that runs on them has to be controlled by Sony.

If the PS4 is set as primary PS4, and ffxiv arr is licensed before please make FFXIV ARR work even when PSN is down, im really dissatisfied with the PS4 PSN issues all the time

That would only work for games you play offline. I don't think you can play FFXIV as a single player.

It works with NetFlix, which, while it's not a game, it's definitely NOT offline...

Yes because Sony allow it. Games work differently than Netflix does. Each game published on a console the console manufacturer, in this case, Sony get a cut. The PSN registration is Sony's way of ensuring each player has bought the game for their console and is not using a friends/PC version.

But FFXIV arr does not use PSN servers for its online portion. Also you can play no problem if you log in before PSN goes down. So FFXIV ARR has absolutly no need for PSN, other PS4 games MP modes have.

I remember back when the PS4 version was coming out, there was speculation that players would have to subscribe to Playstation Plus in order to get online to play FFXIV. Eventually, Sony relented and let FFXIV be on PS4 without Playstation Plus. It could be that being on the PSN is a requirement of the deal to let the game be exempt from Playstation Plus?

It's been 2 days already that I can't play.

The PS3 and PS4 version cost MORE than the PC version, and we get LESS from these versions?!?!?!?


Is Square Enix giving me the ixali oaknots I missed?
How about the t10-11 loot that i probably lost since my group probably cleared those by now??

It doesn't matter AT ALL if it's a Sony or SE issue.
I'm paying for a service that I can't use, why do I have to be punished while SE and Sony just pretend nothing is happening?
