I made a mistake quoting her. I edited my post like 3 times but i missed something, but anyway, no matter what people say, there is a shortage in tanks because of multiple factors. I do believe its boring. I don't care about"knowing" how to play it. Its boring. And on top of that, like many others have said, the way the game is built makes playing as a tank not only boring, but also put too much on the person playing tank. Actually, let me say again, its really just the PLD for me. I was so disappointed in how they made it. Hell it was even hard to maintain hate in the early lvls of the game. Its a joke. If they just added 1 or two more skills. I mean PLD is supposed to be the holy warrior. Give it some more magic. Maybe a different healing spell that can heal, or an esuna like spell, and at least 1 high dmg dealing spell like a holy spell/sword skill. something. To me (my opinion) of all of the classes, i would play PLD last of all.

See, I do care about playing it right, which is why I tend to queue in a premade. That way I know the other three people in the party will do their jobs correctly. Most DPS don't seem to remember that they have skills that don't deal damage (or buff their own damage) but are helpful nonetheless; they just want to pew pew the mobs. The BLMs I queue with, I can count on things like Virus, E4E, and Apocatastasis being used. Healers in general tend to be a bit more conscious of buffs and debuffs. I think it's pretty entertaining to see just how much stuff I can drag into a pile for the two DPS I usually queue with to set on fire (gotta make the WHM earn her keep somehow!). I do enjoy warrior, but I'm way more comfortable on paladin for big pulls and endgame content because I'm much more familiar with the class - warrior is something I only recently got to level 50.

See, what my post is saying, and maybe i should have worded it different, is that it doesnt matter if you play it right or not, it doesnt ghange the fact that its boring. When i play all my classes, i play them right. I ask, I learn, I adjust. What im saying is that it doesn't help if its not fun to play, and PLD to me is the least fun of all of the classes/jobs in the game. If you did a poll and ask people if they had to choose one class/job which would it be, PLD/GLA would be at the bottom. Hell, if you did a poll just between PLD/GLD and MRD/WAR, PLD would lose. Its visually unappealing, mechanically boring, and is a let down.

Lol, yeah but at least BRD you can move around alot while firing, have pretty cool skills (even though their songs could use some work) and its long range, perfect for solo and pulling certain mobs while solo. It has more variety than PLD. PLD, especially in early lvl, sucks. I spent more time spamming freaking flash in the dungeons more than attacking. and why did i have to spam flash? because other party members do so much more damage that they generate hate moreso than you. Im running around flashing like a perv in a apartment window.."flash..look at me....flash....don't attack the healer, look at me!...flash.....dont run...lol its stupid. And then to hear, "you are not keeping hate, you suck" dude, i cant deal enough dmg to generate hate like dps and WAR, don't have healing spells or am allowed to use them frequently like healer, all i have is a bright ass sword and shield. if i was a mob, i would ignore the PLD too and just straight attack BLM, MNk, Etc...lol
