Is May consider Spring to you

Dev's if 2.5 is slated to be on time, we can expect 3.0 in mid-to early May, and 2.5 in early February or late January. Then 2.51 is some where in march. Then can we expect the earliest 3.0 could be is April. Even with a 6 week gap from 2.51 to 3.0.

When do you think the expansion is dropping?

April 14, 2015 - 2 months could be reasonable for an expansion.

Spring doesn't end until June 21st. Every time SE has given a time frame like this it has been near the very end of the given time frame. So I expect june.

Yup, they usually always wait until the VERY end. Look what they do with the holiday events...lol so late and close to the actual holiday instead of the entire month.

Remember when they said 2.0 was summer...yeah, Aug 28th. (I KNOW, Summer ends in September.) The end of summer when everyone has to go back to school. I am expecting June also.

The summer in august thing was because they follow the holidays/seasons more closely to the japanese ones.

Release schedule seasons and real seasons are different. When something is on a retail release schedule the season are Sept-Nov: Fall, Dec-Feb: Winter, Mar-May: Spring, June-Aug: Summer. There is also "Holiday Season" Which is Late September to Early January.

Slight De-rail incoming:
An entire month for Christmas or Halloween events would be silly. The only reason it's like that in the real world is because of $$$ ... company's don't care that it's not really Christmas yet, they just wan't people shopping right from December 1st. These limited time in-game seasonal events work just fine.

But besides that, you're right SE normally waits for towards the very end of a season which is good, gives them time to polish and perfect without missing a deadline.

I'm expecting late May or June. So confident that I had no problems booking a spring vacation for end of April/early May. I know SE too well.

It averages 15 weeks (+2 days) between patches, so I expect 2.5 around February 12th, and 3.0 near-abouts May 30th (using the information below). That's including giving 2.5 the full patch cycle that all the other patches get, but if it's a light patch they may decide to cut it short and drop the expansion in the middle of the cycle. I don't see them doing that, though.

I really would not expect it earlier then June. Nor would I expect any major patches(like 2.5.5) either. There simply would not be a need for it, seeing how huge 3.0 is going to be. Also expansions like 3.0 generally do not follow the normal release schedule of content patches.
