You can't prevent DDoS attacks but LizardSquad said in last septembre that their next attack will be for Christmas. They knew an attack was coming. They basically did nothing to prevent it.I'm pretty sure that if Amazon was hit, Sony would probably be likely unable to prevent it either. Same goes for Microsoft and other big companies. You can't prevent DDoS attacks, nor can you prepare for them either. Unless you know the exact amount that they are planning to use, it's probably almost impossible to prevent (because of the ever-expanding methods of DDoSing). Fixing the issue isn't going to be easy either and may take a long time since they have to filter the IPs bombarding the servers with endless queries and requests.
