Seasonal Items on December 24?

So the announcement for the Starlight Celebration said, "Certain seasonal goods attainable via daily quests will become available on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. (PST)."

I checked yesterday, and again today, and the only new thing to show up in the shop was a duplicate Hoary the Snowman (for 6 green stars instead of 1 each of red, blue, and yellow).

I assumed what was meant was that these "certain seasonal goods" would show up either in the fallen star shop, or be rewards from the daily quests themselves. Did I misunderstand? Were they actually referring to the helms that have shown up in the Mog Station? I wasn't playing last Christmas, so I don't know if those helms were available via daily quests last year, or what.

I believe the cash shop update was what they were referring to.

Well, that's disappointing as all heck. I was really hoping to get the Christmas barding.

It was just Hoary with green stars, chalk it up to even more awkward patch notes wording and "misunderstandings". Helms are separate given the daily quests part.

I believe they were referencing the items that required the 3 different color stars to get. Prior to the maintenance, it was theoretically impossible to get these items if no one put trees up (since they were tied to player actions). On smaller worlds this is more of a problem. What they meant was that, for items that were theoretically unobtainable, they will have a guaranteed way of getting them on the 24th (by making them cost greens, the only guaranteed Sentinel in each area)
