Concerned about most recent 'Optional Items' update.

I mean im terms that we where able to buy old yearly event gear when they popped up in game.

Was only 2013 until summer 2014 this way. Before it we had what we have now without the cash shop.
It would be no problem for me if the devs bring the "You missed the event? You missed the gear." rule back, where you have to participate in the event to get the gear and can't get it anymore after the event.
