I'm all for adding functionality but point and click is pretty archaic these days and not needed IMO.

Not needed hah! Ok think about it this way then, when they would add click to move, together with 3 lines visibility of action bar (which is already confirmed) you simply could play FFXIV with just a standard mouse, nothing else!

This would create endless possibilities like playing FFXIV and at the same time talking through phone ( I know there is bluetooth etc. but still), eating dinner and playing FFXIV... I'm joking don't do that it's stupid but just imagine drinking coffee at the office and killing evil squirrels at the same time

People use the mouse to select things (I don't, I use tab but eh) and I can see people getting annoyed at trying to select an NPC and accidentally missing and starts running away.

I don't really like the system anyway, it's like you aren't even playing.

I don't think you guys know what "Click to Move" means. Click to move doesn't mean holding the right mouse button to move (WoW does this) It means that you click once and your character moves exactly where you clicked (NWN, Diablo, Etc)

I don't see that happening, then again, I really don't want it to. However, i am all for Map Navigation. Select a destination point on your map, and you get an arrow on your mini-map pointing towards the destination, or maybe a line to follow. that way you don't have to constantly check the map.

Thanks for clarifying that Cairdeas, but I think some still don't follow, we might be to old school ;D
So to clarify this even more:
"click to move- refers to clicking somewhere on the ground and your character moves to that spot"

Click to move is a pain in the ass in some games. See ffxi.

Never been a fan of point & click movement. WASD all the way. Also I like the tab targeting system, but FFXIV's doesn't work properly. Pressing Tab should select w/e target is closest to you (and probably in front of you), yet FFXIV fails to do this with reasonable consistency. Until tab targeting is perfected I usually tend to use point & click to select targets. It's pretty easy now with being able to select names etc.

It's doable with a MMO, and can work pretty well. I'm not sure it's worth the investment though.
