Also many places don't count Christmas eve as a holiday, just Christmas day. Same for New Years eve, whereas Jan 1 is the actual holiday. Maybe they did maintenance now so that the employees can actually have Christmas day off. Makes since to me.

As I pointed out, the opposite is actually true as it concerns the Japanese employees, whereas for the American employees that's probably true :P
