    Dragoon, T11, Jump, and Barofield

In T11, the final boss puts down a barofield underneath its current position that applies a heavy debuff and a vulnerability up stack if it is stepped in.

My static tried T11 for the first time last night and i went in on my dragoon, assuming that I could not use my jump skills while barofield was up because it would apply the heavy debuff.

While playing, I noticed that my assumption was wrong. I was capable of using all 3 jumps during the fight without getting the debuff, even though my jumps placed me inside the barofield.

This got me thinking about a few things:

    1) How does this work? Did the devs program in a small invulnerability window just for barofield and jumping? Or maybe for the DRG they shrink the barofield range?? I am not sure.

    2) Can dragoons use this to their advantage? Is it possible to use this effect to go across the boss without getting hit by barofield? Normally, everyone has to go around but this just got me thinking.

    Any ideas?

It's simple: your jumps don't place you inside the Barofield AoE.

Jumps (when performed outside an enemy's hitbox) take you to the very outside of the enemy's hitbox. Barofield will never hit you as long as you're outside the hitbox, thus jumps are safe from it.

Hrmm I did not know this. Though it does seem odd because 2 of my jumps do actually place me inside the barofield. I have to run back out for spineshatter and dragonfire dive. Maybe they do not place me far enough into the field? Not sure, because it looks like I am 2 steps into it

I wouldn't try to jump through the field during the ADS phase though since you'd technically be inside the field. Assuming they're on the other side of the boss, of course.

Yes, I was talking about the small field during phase 1 (90-60%) and phase 3 (60-0%)

The central field during the add phase is a 1 hit KO if you touch it. I tried to elusive jump back through it and died lol

I believe all (most?) ground effects tick their damage/debuff on the server global timer, which is the same as all DoTs, every 3 seconds. It's possible that the time you spend inside Barofield was during that gap between ticks.

I thought about this as well, but it seems really unlikely because throughout our night on T11, i jumped in at least 50 times and never got hit with the heavy. Every 3 seconds and about .5s spent inside the field should result in a .5/3 = 17% chance to take a stack every time I jump. That can't be the case consider in just NEVER take a stack while jumping.

I have used all 3 jumps on this fight literally thousands of times and never had an issue... although I could just be lucky :P

I think that the AoE for Barofield is slightly smaller than the hit box of boss, so when you SSD or DFD and land right at the boss you are still not touching the field

I use target lock, makes T11 a cake walk, you will never go inside barofield with target lock active.
