so people love gambling. yeah right. every human loves gambling lol. please stop it -.- i know ALOT of people who HATE gambling. myself included. so please stop making these statements. they are just plain false.

also your first comment is bullshit. sure there is rng on most mmos. but the amount or rather control or limit to it is what makes or brakes an mmo. take aion as a prime example of why to much RNG will KILL your game. nobody likes instant gratification. but nobody likes to be screwed over endlessly aswell. a middle ground is the right thing here always was. i never said remove rng from the game. just limit its power.

Welp Yoshi already acknowledged the current loot system is broken and doesn't belong in a modern MMO. Only time will tell when the new system gets unveiled/implemented but anyone saying that the current system is fine is purely delusional at best.

I personally do not mind RNG involved in loot, but it's always struck me as weird that loot tied to classes that literally nobody is playing in a given party can drop - especially with the considerations of what will happen as more and more classes are introduced. Having it at least reduce down to the pool of classes actually being played comes with a variety of advantages (Encouraging people to actually play off-roles/jobs instead of getting them geared 'for free'; reducing 'well that was useless' runs for players both in pugs and statics, etc.)

We can't all be like Lucrezia and most groups need those upgrades to clear harder content.
I know how frustrating it can be not to get what you want. My only wish is for this new "Smart Loot system " be placed in the "whole" game and not just The Coils.
If you can live with that, then YES change the Loot system. The loot system We have in place now may not be the best but RNG is RNG. The system is "Working As Intended".

Maybe it should look at party composition and only be a rng lot out of the gear that that party can use therefore narrowing the pool to the 8 jobs that are in that run

You can quote me on that, its human nature.
People hate losing, but they love gambling.
Maybe because you're a gambler or you're not encountering that much of a problem yourself. Seeing that you got quite a few loots in FCoB, it's no wonder you're always an advocate to support the current RNG system.
We're not even saying that we should abolish RNG system completely, but just make it so that it drops 1 item and a guarantee token to everyone, and perhaps another extra token available for rolling. I understand that it might make players gear up a little bit quicker. But heck, sometimes you see people who are IL130 and someone else in that same group wielding only 1 item from FCoB

yeah all this loot I use... to better farm trial roulette's?
Usually 6 months between tiers, plenty of time to gear all 8 players even with the worst possible group luck.
No I don't gamble at all, I'm too good at math.

any other system gears groups on average faster (or it defeats your point yes?). Thus causes people to quit the game faster and groups to fall apart faster. Hence SE makes less money.

I don't care if they change it, my group would do fine, I would benefit, but I know they won't. I know it is good for the survival of the game.

Thinking otherwise is blissful ignorance of reality.

    .
you my friend have probably never faced the wrath of RNG;example cleared T9 with a static group for 2months about 8 weeks of lockout no TNK chest, lockout gets lifted a month of tons of T9 runs still no drop so yeah you can imagine trying to get that BiS item for your main with RNG on your back.....its redundant gear that we don't want like people are stating some of their alts are actually gearing up it's that serious

First tank chest not bis, but I digress.
Grats on taking forever to kill t9 i guess?
Having killed it months before you, our group never saw a bard bow or dragoon wep drop.
That didn't stop us from killing turn 10-12 within a week and turn 13 a couple weeks later. (sorry we only raid 9-12 hours a week so not really pushing it)
They made near zero difference in the long run. (was farmed easily after patch)

People should be far more upset about the fact you could spend hundreds of millions of gil on penta melded left side 110 gear (and right side 90) and had a huge advantage over others. (and not needing any drops from previous coil). I mean it was pretty close to pay to win....

If SE wanted to, they could make the token system so that people can only fully gear their characters over the span of 2 patches. It's long, but it's progress. What about people that quit because the RNG system sucks so much? There are some of us who are willing to grind for the weapon, and many who don't. I haven't actually met anyone who geared up too fast and just quit the game. If you wanted to make a token system, you could decide the speed you want the players to gear up at. Progress is progress
