    Theory on the moons.

Currently there is a conversion going on asking whats going on with the size of the moons changing.

    I have a Theory.

    Hydaelyn only has 1 Moon.

That is right. 1 Moon. Singular.

The secondary Lunar Body that appears to be orbiting Hydaelyn is actually Orbiting Haydaelyn's Moon.

This could point to another neat theory.

One of the Orbiting bodies above Hydaelyn is actually another "Twin" Planet with its own moon.

    Yay, Theories.

If it is a Twin Planet, That means it could be inhabited, Which means it could also point to us going there in the future. :3

    What Cairdeas said makes sense.
In the lore they're only called moons because the people living on the planet believe them to be moons. They could be wrong. Even with the lore this would make sense. I hope I explained this well enough.

As an example.. we've called Pluto a planet for so long. Now we're being told "oops, we were wrong, it's actually something else." It's not unrealistic to believe that the same could happen in a fictional world.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Hydaelyn has twin moons. The lore of Menphina, the lover (one of the Twelve) confirms this.

Lore of the gods doesn't answer scientifically whats going on up in space.

If it did, we'd use the bible as empirical evidence everywhere.

It's a video game. A fantasy video game.

I guess that's technically true from a "real world" perspective.

But this is a fictional world in a videogame, and for that argument to hold much weight you would need to first assume that the creators of this game have decided to outright lie to us about the world they created in the form of established lore and background. I would say the likelihood of this is very low.

Never said it was impossible or unrealistic, just very unlikely, that they would falsify this kind of information.

From the perspective of a game designer, I don't think they would build the entire basis for an important deity on a chunk of lore that isn't even true to begin with.
I also don't think they would present false information about the basics of the world we're in, when all they've been doing lately in quests is trying to give us more concrete information and/or lore about it.

Also, as far as the Meteor theory, I think this is likely and doesn't conflict with the twin moons, considering a meteor that's been orbiting Hydaelyn can still technically be considered a moon (or satellite, I suppose).

Thank god you reminded me that this is a science game, not a fantasy LORE based game!

Chances are that the second "Moon" is
    Meteor.

The second moon could be meteor, and it might have just been dormant. Glowing red could mean it's been activated/artificial moon ala FFIV.
