4k issues

thats a nice report. it's too bad you bought the non k version of that CPU, because it you would be able to get nearly a 5ghz speed OC on the K version which would further improve your FPS by quite a nice margin considering how much FFXIV ARR is CPU dependant.

DX11 is being developed with gameworks in mind btw, so those of us with NVIDIA cards can expect way better performance than AMD, since they don't give a crap about MMOs.

Also at 4k no one really needs to worry about 120fps since 60fps is practically the limit atm for PC for 4k atm unless you're doing 3d, then you will need 120.
or 60 at 30 30. but blehhhh gaming at 30fps is really lame. anyone who disagrees needs their eyes checked. (movies are completely unrelated to this)

Yea I got the superclocked one that can get almost to 5ghz, I probably should have mentioned that haha. But just towards your last comment I am doing the same settings on my game as the guy above your comment and I am at 60 fps besides town. And in town i get 45-55. So I'm never playing in a situation where i have lower fps, but there are situations where I am just afking of sitting bored in a place of low FPS XD. But to be honest that doesn't bother me one bit because I spend most my time in coil and roulettes and just straight up killing stuff so I never really notice it

I have the K version, I just had left it at stock. Sadly, mine doesn't want to pump up past 4.4GHz without getting into extreme voltages (>1.3V) and even under water it's putting up some pretty high temps when Prime95ing at that voltage. I hadn't messed around with it much until today, and it's now running the game even better.... Getting 45-50 FPS in the same spot in Mor Dhona now where I was getting 35-40.

Mebbe if I mess around more with other settings in the BIOS I get my CPU higher, but for now... I just wanna game <_<

Try doing a forum search for 4K UI. Search terms with less than 3 characters are completely ignored. I had to use google, pointing to the forums to even find this thread.

Does the UI still looks blurry as hell when you change the value to anything except 100% ?? On my QHD monitor when I change it be it smaller or larger it gets too blurry.

damm, I can't even run the game at 1366x768 with 60 fps and there are already people complaining about 4k... lol
Anyway, I'm just curious but how many fps do you have with that resolution and if you're only using a 980, I want to save for a pc although I may only get it in 3 years... he

I get consistent 60+ FPS with GTX980 SLI in 4k at Maximum settings. It's beautiful. I'm not sure how a single 980 performs under those conditions.

I have grown to deal with the smaller UI. Sometimes dialog boxes can be annoying to read but otherwise it functions fine, imo.

Well just cause 4k it out there doesn't mean SE has to support it, 4k is still a pretty small market.
