Healer should not dps in the dungeons?

i agree to this on a specific level:

I myself WHM and i myself DPS, rotating in and out of cleric stance, however the DPS is very situational, if a tank wants to do a big pull, second i see Hallowed Ground ill go pop 1-2 holy and then return to normal again, however if hes pulling flower patches, then i'll dps more than even heal him, 50% of his hp pool is safe enough depending on the amount of mobs.

TL;DR I dps, bards a tool, keep on trucking.

That Bard was basically saying 'hey, I see that you can keep up with both heals and DPS but I want us to stay in this dungeon for much longer than we need to.'
Maybe they were lonely... and well, with the attitude they have, I can see why.

For serious though, as long as you don't lose sight of your first priority as a healer - which is, well, healing - then it should go without saying that you're allowed (and very much encouraged) to do whatever else you can to make your party more efficient. Whether it be dps'ing or humping the giant dragon or whatever into submission, if it allows you to clear faster and you're able to keep your party alive, I don't see why you shouldn't do it.

In my opinion, DPS'ing whilst healing should be optional. If you feel you can handle the heals then great, go for it. This game more then most seems to encourage DPS'ing whilst healing (Hence Cleric Stance etc...). But if someone is new to the healing game or the class, they may want to just concentrate on get the healing aspect right. Even if they just enjoy pure healing I do not really think they should be penalized.

They asking me why i played foe in boss or trash mob encounters. Hello? Ninja has spell damage abilities and the scholar can do dps.
You can be casual, but not a lazy player. You are paying for play, click one button or press r1 + a, it's fun for you?

Your opinion is correct; it's absolutely optional. The toolset of a Conjurer is there so they can manage in solo content. There will never be any duties that require healer DPS as this is a player-created min/maxing ideology. It's pretty useful for pushing early progression content or making up for a difficult phase change, but this is all just either compensating for problems elsewhere (usually gear level difference when content first comes out, etc) or solely to speed things up.
