Your reflexes have to be on the ball all the time as a healer in tough content. If a healer is dps'ing in 4 man content then obviously I'm not doing my job properly. Yup probably just old school...

The highest dps per second on AOE packs comes from a WHM. You want them dpsing. If you pull so much that the WHM has to heal exclusively and you don't have a good AOE dps class (like BLM) you are actually slowing down the run and being inefficient. In content that I feel is tough for my skill level I don't dps as much. For instance I'm still learning SCOB fights so I don't dps there much but in things like EX primals and T5 I do during the phases I know I can dps without any issues.
