Healer should not dps in the dungeons?

I just... can't find the words to describe how retarded that is...

I have the words you need:

1 - Terrible player.
2 - Dumbass.

You need to be both. If you are only number 1 you think "oh what a bad healer that player is...he is dpsing lol!". If you are a dumbass, you insult. If you are both, you both insult and are wrong.

I always DPS as Scholar when the situation permits. As long as everyone's alive, I don't see any point in berating a healer for DPS'ing. Holy's stun is actually damn nice in trash pulls cause it cuts down on annoying AOE's that make the tank have to pull the mobs all over the place to dodge.

Love the sounds of Holy going off when it decimates the mobs. xD I always respect the healer who can DPS and Heal. Can't believe someone would kick a healer for Helping. Must have felt stupid waiting there for another healer right before the last boss.

Honestly, they probably had a friend/FC mate waiting to take their place and were looking for an excuse to kick. Otherwise, I can't fathom why someone would be so stupid as to turn down extra DPS from the healer.

The spells are there for a reason and that's to use them not just to look at its up to the person playing the job to use good decision to when to use them obviously if you tank is squishy you're going to be curing more etc. etc.

only 1 time i was raged for dpsing on my healer , and that was ifrit HM 1 month ago , by another healer , no1 took dmg or died....we killed ifrit in no time Oo

i do dmg all the time i can w/o risking the party , some bosses u need to go full time healing other u can help dpsing .

i find more frustrating healers that dont dps when they can ,cleric stance exist for a reason :P

If a healer gets too caught up in their DPS and fails to spot when heals are needed, then it's a problem. If a healer uses up all their MP on DPS, and is then unable to heal when it's needed, that's a problem. But it doesn't sound like either of those were the case. So long as you make sure you can keep up with the healing, anything else you can throw into damage is an overall boost to the group as a whole.

My best guess would be that the bard you were with had probably been in a previous run where the healer concentrated too much attention on their DPS and let it distract them from healing. It was still pretty idiotic of him/her to overgeneralize it that way, though. The problem wasn't a healer who used DPS attacks, it was a healer who failed to put enough of their attention into healing. Getting mad at you when you were balancing the two correctly was just stupid.

Presence of Mind + Holy spam = way more damage than any of Bard AoE.
