So, lots of content for new players coming in 1.19

I see a lot of content for new or low level players incoming in 1.19. No, I'm not complaining, just wondering.

It seems that the dev team is somehow expecting a large influx of new players in the relatively near future... Maybe the PS3 version is not THAT far.

In before all the negative nancies that will come to spam that it'll take 20 years before the game is ready for the PS3.

Or maybe the game is just so far behind that they can't just add all the content needed for lower levels right before PS3 launch. They need to spread them out over many patches just like everything else.

If everything goes as SE and the development team plan/hope, those people playing now with one or more level 50s will be in the minority once the game re-launches, and they probably don't want to have nothing but content for capped players that the new people won't reach for months.

I suspect that they want to have it ready for the Christmas season, but at the rate things are going at about one major patch every 2 months, I'd say early 2012 would be a fair guess.

Even if they announced the PS3 version at Tokyo Games Show (which would make sense), it normally takes at least 6 months to work on distribution and such after an official announcement. So I would say march could be a reasonable date.

There is quite a bit for the new folks coming in and for those such as myself who quit for some time and came back.

I was wondering how all the R50s felt about the new additions if there was enough for those of you who can play a lot. guess that question was answered. :P Maybe you could come help some of us returning players?

June 2012 is when the game will be ready for "release". I've said this since November, and if they do keep the patch scheduled to the end of September, and not to the end of October this will still apply. If they can't, then July 2012 might be more appropriate.

Lol, and what orifice did you pull that date out from?

Honestly, one year from now, considering the pace they're been going at, can be easily identified as science-fiction.

If all the content they planned by 1.19 and 1.20 will deliver, the game will be plenty "ready for release" then.

Mind you, considering the state in which MMORPG launch nowadays, the game is "ready for release" now, but by 1.20 it'll be plenty big and enjoyable to be ready for the PS3. Let's even be extremely pessimistic, and say that 1.20 comes by christmas, there's still time for 1.21 and maybe even 1.22 by march.

But of course haters shall be haters.

They probably want it in and working completly before the ps3 release which makes sense, if they release it now and in 1.20 the current players can play the low level content (those that have low levels still) and it will be working as well as possible by the ps3 launch, which at the rate we are going will either summer 2012 or they could look at releasing it on the 2yr aniversery.

I'm not hating, I just don't want the game to fail on PS3 release and be forced to shut down. It's a safe timeframe that allows the battle revisions to be completed and balanced, the job system to be implemented and balanced, and the new world to be implemented and tested for bugs before a PS3 launch. It also lets the dev team iron out important content gaps in low level ranges, and ensure that players feel there is a variety of content at higher level ranges so that no one runs into a situation where a player base feels like the game isn't worth it.

I respect your optimistic opinion on the game.

As a side note, it's annoying to see these threads and expansion threads pop up every single time there's a letter to he players. People get so easily hyped.
