Lightning Event

I was wondering if they planned on adding the Lightning Event stuff to the cash shop at sometime. I wasn't sure if they would because it wasn't technically a seasonal event.

If they do, a lot of people will whine, moan, and complain, before eventually settling down. If they don't, a lot of people will whine, moan, and complain, before eventually settling down. I personally hope they do add the items and the hairstyles, plus some new items for the new classes. Y'know, like Noah's spear-blades for ROG, Caius' sword for DRK, etc.

Well, they put some of the anniversary event items in the cash shop so I don't see why they wouldn't at last put the armors in (unless they plan to randomly keep running this event like they already have, in which case, free!).

I did do the event the first time but I recently started playing on a different server with a friend. However, I have a house on my main server and I would lose it if I transfer and after investing so much gil and materials into it, I just can't do that. Even so I would like to have the gear again. x_x

Yeah, I wish they had done the housing with more of an eye toward allowing it to transfer with you.

If it truly was a limited time event, then it seems like something that they could put into the cash shop.

I think at this point they will probably turn the Lightning Returns event into an annual event, adding new weapons to match new jobs.

I mean, we already had it initially TWICE. Once for the JP release and a second time for the NA release of Lightning Returns. And those of us that did it did it and the rest of the people who didn't didn't.

And then those people cried so hard that they wanted the gear and the hairstyles that they made the Lightning Returns event strike a third time to appease all the crybabies.

So yeah.. we might as well make it an annual event now. I mean why not? We did the Dragon Quest and FFXI events a second time when they should have been one time only. So why not?

At this point it doesn't matter, the "events" aren't even special when they run the same exact thing multiple times. They already set precedence by not having events be exclusive limited time only deals. So in reality there's nothing holding them back from just making Lightning Strike a 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, etc. etc. time.

If you cry hard enough they will run it again. Proven fact.

Do it. If it was free once I have zero problem with people paying for it when it's no longer available.

That wouls be nice. I missed last occurence (and the one before) of that event. Maybe they'll rerun it beginning of next year?

TBH, I'd probably buy Snow's outfit in the cash shop if I could finally use it on my female character.

Previously limited time events in game appearing in the cash shop later is one of the least annoying cash opportunities (imo). I'm quite anti-cash shop but I'd almost see the seasonal items being always available (even if at cost) is both fair and yet respectful of those who attended the first time. You'd then basically be getting cash valued items for free in game, if you attended - it would also encourage them to create items that people would want to purchase later if they missed it or are new (encourages at least a few decent items to be made). Lightning event is not really seasonal but I don't suppose why it can't just be defined as "limited event items" in the future.

Exclusive items are and will always be annoying to me though, even if I am financially able to make such purchases - stuck between mindless want and calculated value "1/3 the price of a 20-60 hour game or a mount that was already present in game... y u do this to me SE" lol.
