[Forum Feature] Plus (+) and Minus (-) Buttons

The last thread to be posted about this subject was in 2011 so I am starting a new one.

Many forums, newsgroups, Reddit, etc. all have a way for registered users to give positive and negative ratings to posts.

We have the like button and I use it often, but unfortunately there is a lot of trolling/useless posting that occurs within this community. Therefore, I think we could use a way to give a post a negative mark. Much like a lot of positives are meant to get Mod attention, perhaps a lot of negatives could as well.

I think we should change the "Like" button to [+] and add [-]. Example, I may personally "like" a post but it could add zero value to a thread and would deserve the [-].

Perhaps in the future, with this addition, we could even sort threads by positive ratings.

Do you think people will understand/use it from a value perspective, or will they use it to troll harder?

The like function can't really be exploited, except for some extreme cases, there's only one reason to like a post, agreeing with it, but there are a lot to use dislike one, hate, trolling, harassment... these forums are already non-viable for feedback purposes, a dislike button would make it worse.

I've been mod is some forums and a "negative" buttom was exploited to death by trolls. I don't think it'll be possible to implement this here.
