    G>N lock-in system

Let leader assign who gets drop in a G>N party. Groups fall apart because of one person either needing or greeding other peoples items.

Let it be something you can only change outside of instance and something the party agrees with.

So simple once leader Q's the item you want pops up in the Q and if you accept that means you agree.

Bring this in ASAP, some items are rarely seen and when they drop its not fair that someone else takes it.

Won't this just cause even more problems? Premades could easily rig the system in favor of their friends.

In my opinion a quartermaster system won't work good for this game because of drops come in at most 2 per run if you are referring to coils and lockouts. Because of their high random nature, as Miles mention, some people will favor their friends. If these fights were modeled after BCNM fights from FFXI, where there are no lockouts and higher number of drops per run, then yes a quartermaster system will work and be needed to avoid people looting things over others.

unless they agreed before joining and you have proof no wrong action has been done.

in the case of a player breaking their word it is a reportable offense and the item can be taken from the player.

I see no reason they cannot copy WoW on this. GvN or Quartermaster. Just have it as an option that can only be changed before entering the instance.

They do have this system in WoW called master loot I believe. However people can still screw you over with it. Like not give you their loot, give it too their friends, take it for themselves. So pretty much any loot distro system has its problem, which is the same thing as people greeding or needing your stuff in a greed over need party.

The group complaining about something like this doesn't really have a leg to stand on as far as the rules of the game are concerned. Not sure there is much, if anything, that could be done here.

Uhhhh, no, actually it sounds entirely fair. For every single person in the group.

We could have a gil-bidding system where person with the highest bis gets the item, and the gil is then distributed to the whole party.

This way people can secure their items while other people will then have the gil to bid on things they need.

It would greatly favour crafters and spiritbond people though, essentially making the game all about earning gil rather than running dungeons.

We've received a lot of requests to make it possible to pass after you've already lotted on an item, but due to the current system as well as prospects for the future we do not have any plans to implement this at the moment.

Also, while this isn't limited to only the topic at hand, it's extremely difficult to prevent human error by creating perfect rules within the game system as it becomes something that forces players to go through a cumbersome process. (Such as going through multiple confirmation windows.)

Naturally we will continue to make changes to the system for improvements, but ultimately we feel that there are situations where we would like you to decide on the rules amongst yourselves. Before entering a duty, make sure that all party members are informed of the agreement and who is able to lot on which item. All party members should agree to those terms before entering to ensure an agreement is clearly understood.

Breaking these agreements, or behavior that imposes on other players' enjoyment of the game, will not be tolerated. If after an investigation it's confirmed that a player clearly understood the rules when joining a group and still acted in such a manner, proper action will be taken against the player, which may include confiscation of the item or account suspension, so please avoid doing anything like this.
