ahh i see. My bad, i thought you just didn't know or something. lol but with that said, there really wouldn't be a reason for three separate companies to exist in the first place, ya know?

Yeah, and I do understand OP a bit! I really hope that eventually all three Companies will offer gear for every class, but I do think it'll be fun to focus on one team and see how your Company does in the long run =) I wonder if we'll get a weekly tally type thing...

I'm all for having the option of switching Companies in the long run, just not with being able to experience all three at once despite having one as a focus and the others in a minimal capacity.

Which will mean that all the people of the same class will have to join the same company to be able to get the rewards they need.

We *already* have to chose between city states when we have to create a character (which, mind you, is the equivalent of what we had in FFXI, the comparison between nationality in FFXI and grand companies in FFXIV doesn't hold water, as we have nationality even in FFXIV), there's no need to force people to chose even for grand companies, which are, for all means and purposes, just mercenary organizations.

I'd like that, and just a random thought, what if they can use those tally marks to be able to purchase equipment from other companies?

Lets say Uldah has the leading tally. Uldah can purchase items from other companies (whether it be at discount, same price, or 20% increase. Or perhaps start at increased priced, and if Uldah leads again, goes to normal price, etc. This way there is more of an incentive to stay in the lead.)

Limsa would be in second, and will only be able to purchase Gridanian items at x1.50

Gridania only has access to their own items.

Sorry, I just don't agree, nothing personal. But! I do think that they ought to offer the weapon types for all classes down the line, so that one wouldn't feel as though they have to join a specific one just to benefit from a Company-specific piece of gear. That or allow outside Company folks to purchase said items at a higher price than if you were a member.

Great way to encourage everyone further to join Ul'dah's company. Like geographic convenience wasn't enough

SE, we do not like diversity. There should only be one starting city. One class. One Company. Everybody should be exactly the same in FFXIV. Also, you need to do more to purge any amount of competition this game may have. We are idiots.

Just make everyone start as a Manthra named Meow Princess and make the game single player.

I say no to this one.

FFXI played out alright on the 3 country main scenario's I don't see why not for FFXIV, once you finish one country (in future) just let us start over another country or something then I'm all good. Just make sure we don't lose anything when we switch companies later on... like FFXI deliveries was pain in the butt....... ><

Only part I'm worried with this is what if the 3 countries have different reward/gear that may cause issue, but maybe they may add quests where any grand company rank can take for some quests so you still can accumulate the company seals then it should work out.
