As long as we can get equivalent gear from each company, it's really ok to be stuck with one.

Better to have personal choices... kinda ruins the whole grand companies if you work for all of em, why not just call it "The Grand Company"?! :S ... Any quests released for them will be guaranteed to have shared ones down the road and/or converge into a single quest line as the grand companies end goals are all the same :P

and as i recall the devs intention with companies was also to give players the possibility to chose their own favourite nation to aid despite the chars starting location. the individual rewards do limit this quite a bit if we can only join one company. :\

But that would defeat the purpose of having pride in one nation... I loved that about XI. I was a Sandy Taru when most of my ls buddies were all Windurstians. I remember years ago when "Lastok" was a running joke and we'd always wait to see the weekly results to see how all the nations were doing. My friends and I had a laugh one day when Bastok finally took first place.

Getting some of those outpost warps were a LONG time coming. Like the saruta ones O_O. Sure felt good when I got them though.

That's another thing I miss about FFXI hah, I'd almost forgotten.


As for the OP, just switch when you're done with one. It's what I'll do. When I get the item I want I'll switch back to my own cities company. All the extra work for a few items is a pain but oh well. The items might not even end up being useful.

These cmopanies pretty much function like nations in XI...so at some point you will be able to "reset" your company anyway and can join another to do all missions/quests from it...

Even a mentally retarded ape could tell it's gonna be like that.

But for now, NO don't let us join all three. This is supposed to create a bond between you and your "prefered nation", so why should we get all of them...

I do not mind going to serve one nation only, but i want to do a certain one, and not force my self to serve the others just because they give the equipment i need,

like my Eg. i pledge loyalty to Gridania, but they do not give me Lancer equipment, i must pledge to Limsa to be able to get them which i do not want to in the first place. =.=

I'm from Ul'dah, the PGL guild is there, yet the pugilist weapons are from the Grid company? o_0

That's one thing I found odd. It makes zero sense that the rewards aren't even from the guilds in the related cities. Like, really?

i did all 3 cities, kinda sucked for op warps but i had to enjoy all 3 city missions an story and was well worth it. now for companies i dunno, it seems more like campaign ops/battles, where it's mostly for the reward, not sure how different the stories will be, if there will be mini boss fights or anything like that.

any words on if we can sell and buy the rewards? kinda sucks if we can only get one city of items, lot of us have multiple classes already. also like op said not much content so would be nice to do all 3 zones for something to do. worse to worse i'd like to race threw 2 and then stay with one, but i'm sure we only seeing a small look at what it is, it's not like 10city missions, i think they will keep adding stuff to this (like said ops/signet system) ...hopefully at the most please se let us keep our points and rewards when we switch?!?! like in ffxi u could switch city and switch back an still have u'r signet points. u only lost op's. that way we can get our rewards flip floping, and we can also see all the content in each flip floping.
