Astrologian Speculations! How will it fit in?

I notice a lot of people are talking about an RNG draw function when it comes to the cards, however I personally can't see this being a thing for the following reasons. Look at the screenshot with the cards:

- All of the card faces can be seen by the Astrologian
- They are blank.

So with these two pieces of information I would like to propose that the cards are little more than a physical conduit for spells to be cast on in the same way a SMN/SCH writes in their book.
