Curious, has anyone timed a queue out on purpose to start the 30 minute penalty?

So I get together with a couple friends to do an expert, and say afk a couple minutes, which the party leader misses and queues us up. Twice.

No biggie but then I think, "wow, now if I leave things as is I'm sitting at 2 strikes for the rest of the day and if I miss 1 more I might get locked out at a bad time...but, if I just queue something and let it go, I get the 30 minute timer over with for the next time I get half a group together to queue up."

So it's maybe a little bit sad the current system actually encourages people to do that, at least in a small way. Just curious if anyone's had a situation where they'd think to do that.

I thought you get the 30min lockout every time after your 3rd strike until it resets at the daily reset time? Granted I never tested this or looked into it much, so if someone has more information that would be helpful.

Lol, probably because I rarely miss a queue.

It was a part of patch 2.4. The general forums exploded over it, coming up with a billion excuses on why they could/should miss queue pops.

This is correct, after 3 strikes, everytime a queue times out/you withdraw - you get penalty

Actually it's a 5 minute penalty after the 3rd strike, ten after 4th and 30 from 5th on. And it resets every day at 9 AM PST. The cue penalty caps at 30 minutes which is the same as a desertion penalty. (The one you get for leaving a dungeon without vote abandon/dismiss)
