Combating Gilsellers: Single-press Feature to Report Gilselling Messages

Although we can report gilsellers(GS) via XIV website to the Task Force Team, or use the reporting function in-game, it does not make sense to us as players to copy, paste and navigate windows to report 5+GS /tells per hour. As players, we prefer to click one button that swiftly allows us to continue with our gaming. However, many of us now have a full blacklist from our GS-banning macros.

As such, I suggest an in-game, single-press button under the Actions&Traits menu. Players will press this button, a menu of the most recent names to have sent them a /t will appear, the player will correctly select the GS and confirm. The reported GS is immediately suspended from /t-ing that player, and the message+name is sent to the TFT.

For the player, this will mean a quick 3-click process to be forever freed from that GS character. It involves no complex navigation of windows. For staff, it means actually receiving information on the names and messages used in GS activities.

Nice input. Do you really expect the players to sit around writing up Gil Sellers all day? That's what would happen, we would spend a significant portion of our time writing reports, policing the servers! The Game already has a police force, the GMs. If the devs give us the option to insta-report gil sellers the GMs workload would be more streamlined and efficient. How is this idea lazy?

If they wanna help yes. The system is there. If they dont bother to report them, then is not that important for them.

SE is providing a service to us, we shouldn't need to help them provide said services. If I need to be bothered to write reports on each gil seller I come across, I should be getting discounts on my subscription price. Services rendered require reimbursement.

With the amount of spam going on, all I would be doing is reporting and not playing the game. The report function is way too long winded. I have yet to play an online game that the report function was like this. Maybe its an MMO thing, and this is the only MMO that I play. SE has employees, they can park a few people in the servers and they can do it. I didn't sign up to be the police for SE. Now if they want to kick back some coin my way, then maybe I will.

One or two a day, no issues. 5 every half hour, I don't get paid enough to deal with that reporting.

Blizzard uses an option in their sub-menu to report for various things. If SE could adapt the idea, say have report for Cheating, Abusive Behaviour/Misconduct, RMT Advertising/Spam as the options, with the first two opening the report interface and the last one just emailing the task force with the offender's name, date/time, zone and the chat log entry. People would be more than willing to report more RMT offences when it doesn't take twenty minutes to report one /tell

A single click or submenu type instant report would do wonders for the players. I streamlined reporting to the bare minimum and could get the spammer blocked and reported in 10-20 seconds based upon how fast the servers were connecting to the help center. Even with that, I was still spending about 10% of my play time dealing with spammers, and the responses.

I honestly stopped reporting because of the reply messages from SE. A tell randomly every few minutes was not half as irritating as the flashing report received by the minimap that doesn't go away until you acknowledge and close the issue. We don't need to know you got the report about a gilseller, were they harassing in other manner that require responses that would be different.

My 2 cents summed up, streamline it and make it a one way road with gilsellers unless absolutally required.

hell I get like 10 tells a day when I play and its only for a few hrs of play I block them but damn it never stops it would help if you could just click there name like you do to block and just add a report action to it that way you could click it and it would report them but its never going to end anyways its pointless there going to just keep making new names to sell stuff so in all honesty it does no good to report anyways

The current system is terrible, and should be streamlined, I shouldn't have to put, player name, zone, location, time, and all this other info, if I'm reporting someone from a tell it's all right there and should be auto filled, also the black list is way too small, and report gilseller should be a right click report/blacklist function that doesn't take up my blist space. I have to remove players constantly, or just ignore the tells and pray that they stop.
