Using items during battle

We'll be addressing drag and drop along with the upcoming action bar adjustments. In the future we are planning on making various adjustments and we are looking into additional features such as increasing the amount of actions displayed and being able to set items and macros directly on the bar.

Great! this makes me happy.
Now, i guess this thread is about the potions and their very needed balancing.
More powerful potions!
Make them fairly expensive (but not too expensive)
balancing them so they don't out job healers

Macros are cool and all, but they are not very accessible for new players to the MMO's who probably don't even know what they are. If this game needs one thing, its accessibility for new players.
There's also the issue with the inventory being too small. 100 items for everything excluding crystals and currency is insane considering that FFXIV is a very item heavy game. wherever you go, you will obtain new items. meaning that your inventory will be full very quickly.
... i think inventory space issues should be discussed on another thread... but i just think there should be a tab on the inventory dedicated to battle and field items only, just like crystals.
