    Returning 1.0 Player

Hey guys to make things brief I am a returning 1.0 player with a couple of questions since the game has changed a lot since i stopped playing. These are all things I just noticed my first day playing again. other than needing to re touch every crystal. If any of you know how to fix these issues or have any helpful tips other than starting over I would be grateful.

    1) I had 1.0 FFXIV CE how do i get the ARR CE items? I checked my moogle mail delivery person and even the salvage npc and I didn't get any extra items. Also I tried typing in all my special codes that came with my box that I got years ago with no luck.

    2) I had max lvl 50 classes for all 1.0 combat characters but I dont have the gear set icons available

    3) Even when I am trying to quote on quote re-join a class guild that I have either maxed out or in the 20-30's (crafting) the NPC says i can't join the guild because I haven't completed my primary class lvl 10 quest? How is this possible?

    4) I can't use my chocobo I unlocked in 1.0 years ago

    Welcome back to Eorzea!

I'm trying to remember the stuff for a 1.0 player I went through transferring my Legacy character into the game back in the Beta so bare with me:

1). If you had the 1.0 Collector's Edition you're automatically given the ARR Collector's Edition in-game items (Behemoth chocobo barding, Baby Behemoth minion, Helm of Light, Courel Mount, Fat Chocobo mount, moogle minon, and if you managed to gain Legacy Status, the Legacy Chocobo), and these will be sent to you via the in game Moogle Delivery Service (the moogle mail system) once you log in. If you've logged into ARR once and still haven't received them, you might have to log out and then log back in again to get it to 'work' - for some reason sometimes you have to log into ARR once for the items to actually be sent (you can tell if they've been sent by seeing if you have the 'new mail' icon at the top right of your screen next to the network status and clock.

If you still haven't received your CE items even after trying this, you might have to put in a bug report with SE to find out what's gone wrong.

2). The gear set system is gained automatically each time you unlock a class by joining their Guild (each class gives one Gear Set). Unlocking a class's Job also gains an extra gear set as well. Thus someone transferring into the game from version 1.0 will not have gear sets available for their levelled classes until they do the class quests given by the Guild of the class they started as, after which you will then be able to unlock the other class's Guilds and join them like a new player does (see next question)

3). Despite what SE stated though about 1.0 players 'having the Armoury System unlocked from the start', they actually don't. Instead, what happens for a returning character from version 1.0 is any exp and levels you gained in a class in 1.0 is carried across in ARR, and while you can change to that class at will if you wish by simply equipping the relevant weapon or tool, you cannot sign up with another class's Guild until you've done the quest line for the Guild of the class you started ARR as up to the level 10 one, like a new character does.

By completing this quest you will then be allowed to join the other Guilds and do their quest lines. It should also go without saying that any classes you didn't level in 1.0 will be locked in ARR until you can unlock them in the above way - this also goes for the new ARR classes of Arcanist (ACN) and Rogue (ROG) as well.

4). They changed how you call your chocobo from 1.0 to ARR. Your chocobo whistle should be in your inventory as a once-use consumable item, which if you use it will seemingly disappear without anything apparently happening. However, don't be concerned - when you use the whistle it actually adds the mount into your 'Mounts' list in the main menu, which you can then check by opening the 'Character' menu and selecting 'Mounts Guide'. To actually call your chocobo, in the Mounts Guide simply click the 'Company Chocobo' icon and drag into your hotbar. This goes for all other mounts you can gain as well, like the goobbue from 1.0, the Legacy Chocobo, the Collector's Edition mounts and ones you can find or gain in ARR. Minions work the same way.

Also I'm not sure but I think you have to also reenlist with your Grand Company first before you're allowed to ride your chocobo again, but I'm not certain about that (if you never joined a Grand Company in 1.0 though, like I never did, then you're unable to call any mount you might gain until you join a GC as part of the storyline (at level 20).

Hopefully this hasn't been too confusing for you.

EDIT: also one final tip is to get around the annoying '1000 character limit' when posting, simply post a few lines then go back and edit the post - doing so will allow you to post more than 1000 characters (it's actually allowed by SE). It's an odd way of doing things but, that's life I guess...

Thank you for clarifying everything for me. I will send SE a ticket about the CE items and I will just pound through all the beginning quests again lol.
