Lightning Hairstyle

I've recently joined and I keep seeing this Lightning hairstyle (I only found out the name after research) on Miqo'tes. I read that it was only available during this one event that happened again in February. Is it happening again anytime soon or will I never have a chance to get this hairstyle? (Which is pretty unfair to us new players)

Yes you can get it in an Inn room. Inn is unlocked at level 10 and if you 'retire' to a room you'll see the summoning bell for retainers and beside another summoning bell for the (hairdresser) Aesthetician I think it's called? At a cost of 2000 gil you can change hairstyle, hair color, tattoos, lip color, a few other things I forget. It's one of the styles available there.

It's not available if the person hasn't done the Lightning Returns event.

At this time we don't know if the Lightning Returns event will ever happen again. Though the chances of the hairstyle being available in other places (Cash shop) are decently high. I'm sure you can manage to get the hair sooner or later.

I don't think they will do it again as they have already done the event 3 times, November 2013, February 2014, and September 2014. Now that they have the cash shop it's more likely that they will place it there for those that missed out rather than do the event again.

They originally planned to do the Lightning Returns event twice, in Nov 2013 and Feb 2014, to correspond with the release of the Lightning Returns game in both Japan (Nov) and North America/Europe (Feb). They already repeated it an extra time last September due to popular demand, largely because they had a rather large influx of new players who joined when the Playstation 4 version was released, and those players all missed the first two iterations of the event. Because it was highly popular and included some really nice rewards, there have been some requests that it be made an annually repeating event to give other new players a chance at it, but SE has not said whether that will happen or not. As others have mentioned, the addition of the cash shop makes that somewhat less likely, as SE could instead release just the event's rewards without the event itself. So far, they've done neither, so Lightning's hairstyle and the other rewards from that event are not currently available.

I would accept her hair (and gear) being cash shop if they don't bring back the event. Heck, I've been musing about other hairstyles that should be added to the cash shop... Nanamo's hair, Raubahn's hair... I also want Emerich's hair to be available, but I'm crossing my fingers that it might be able to be free.
