    Hide Tails for Beast Races

Anyone else think the new Au Ra race looks amazing? I also think it does. I also enjoy the body type and the attitude of the Miqo'te. The only thing that really bothers me about these races is the tail. I admit, it looks cute with some armor, but most of the time it just hangs there and looks awkward. AKA the Evenstar set. In hopes to get more people to play these races, I would like for the development team to make an option to "hide" the tail. So we can be cute Miqo'tes and Au Ras and look normal with no tails. Anyone else with me on this?

Just think how uncomfortable that would be though... It's like a guy trying to make his privates less noticeable ora woman binding her breasts. It can be very uncomfortable. I do however expect that Au Ra will likely be able to have really short tails.

Makes me wonder how they are gonna model all the old armor to their bodies. Like if they equip a blm hat, do their horns just disappear? Will they just clip through the hat awkwardly? Or actually model the hat with their horns?

They already accommodate Miqo'te ears (and in the case of hoods, Elezen ears). Some hats have extensions to cover Miqo'te ears and others have holes to let their ears through. I'd assume horns get accommodated the same way, on a case-by-case basis. Gear is already modeled separately for each race. The only difference is that there will be one more race to model it for.

But as to hiding their tails? No. If you don't want a tail, then don't play a race that has a tail.

I'm against it. Miqo'te have tails. I don't want to see a bunch of tailless freaks of nature running around. It would be like a hyur with one eye or a roegadyn with no nose something. And as a miqo'te I'm offended by your obvious hatred of tailed people, you dirty racist!

In all honestly this would be a smart idea from a lore stand point.

There is the notion that a cats tail provides the extra balance and its also what they use to right themselves so that they (almost always lol) land on their feet. So even though it wouldn't seem to make sense to take that away on the battlefield you have to consider that these tails also run the risk of getting lopped off. So i would purpose what the saiynas did in DBZ lol. wrap it around the waist.

No it isn't. We use counter-torque. We twist one half of our body one way and the other half the other way. That provides force to push off against to turn over in mid air. Also, it's not like we need balance in combat or anything amirite?

i just RE-educated myself on this matter, no tail needed for cat righting reflex >.< however the tail is a wonderful counterweight that would provide great benefits in battle. i would just be terrified of getting it chopped off since it is behind you and you wouldn't see i coming.

If someone snuck up behind me I'd be more worried about them cutting off my head than my tail.
