Those of us claiming not to want an Auction House dont want those bidding mechanics, so we have to fight extra hard against the people blindly asking for an Auction House. We don't want SE confused.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
I guess that what Cair wanted to say is that an AH is Timed Bidding (or Buy Now) objects to buy and send them into your mailbox, but people don't want all that stuff, just buying an item and put it into their bag, which by any means is not an AH, but something near a Market Wards system.
That said... Guys, Ana just wants to know where are the infos about the Auction House, if it's still getting considered or trashed away. I think, like other threads, that this deserves an answer from the Dev team.
Understandable and I agree completely.
Unfortunately most people "fighting against it" refuse to explain things in any way shape or form like you have explained it so it leads to nothing but misunderstandings and arguments :/
Anyhow, you're idea for the wards you mentioned earlier was fantastic.
As for the OP.. We don't know any more than you right now. Nothing was mentioned. Sorry. It's probably still being considered but they really want to do something with the market wards, especially after they've put so much work into them.
If MW wasn't laggy to hell and featured the worst music of any zone in any game ever created, and if the Item Search Counter didn't have 327 submenus, and if selecting any type of transaction/search/npc interaction didn't have a 3-5 second wait between nearly each phase of the convoluted menu selection process, I wouldn't mind if.. there was no.. I don't remember where I was going with that, my run-on complaint sentence was too long and made me forget the point.
If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
I edited my op to include info on the mail and storage system. Again, this is just so we know what's hapenning. Been awhile since the last bit of info came out on this.
I've always supported a mw and ah combo. In fact yesterday on XI I was trying to find an autumn stone, and I was in port jeuno going through bazaars and thought to myself, "man, this game could really use the market wards". So, yeah this isn't a this or that thread, justa "please give us an update" thread.
making is so both can work together is the hard part thoughI've always supported a mw and ah combo. but there is a huge factor that can easily make the wards still used
a big AH tax(double at least what the wards charge, so 10% on any sales)
basicaly, if people wanna sell on AH, tax them more, if people use the wards, give them a deal

Keep crying, maybe you'll get an AH.
So.. I personally don't want to deal with the bidding mechanic of an actual FFXI style auction house.. but I want the convenience of having a one stop shop where I can interact in a single menu to select and purchase my items without changing zones and marking npcs with fancy stars and dealing with the lag of a bajillion npcs crowded into a barnstorm with the tackiest elevator music ever created playing.
So can we combine the two ideas, and have invisible retainers that automatically handle the transaction at the item search counter..? We can clearly see the prices of everything, so no actual auctioning, just a quickie mart to grab our crap and go. Oh and with a MUCH consolidated submenu system.
Buy -> Ingredients/Materials -> Name of Craft (not hyper specific subcategories like Hides, Feathers and crap, it's alphabetized so scrolling = faster than clicking through laggy menu)
Buy -> Armor -> Slot
Buy -> Weapons -> Class
Buy -> Food -> Types (Drinks, Sweets, Meats etc)
Buy -> Crystals/Shards
etc.
See how I cut out about 4,322 menus there?
If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
