Well, if it cost the same as 2.0, the price of 2 are still the same as the price of 1 of the other PC or PS4 games, so it's not too bad.
I have a similar situation I need an answer on but mine is little different. I have 3 players in same house and we each were free upgraded to ps4 edition from our ps3 copies. WE each have a pc copy as well. I plan to buy the expansion for pc x 3. I also because I need the software plan to buy is on ps4 x1. Do I still need the other ps4 copies or will just having the software installed on ps4 and the pc license be enough this go around?
This wouldn't just be down to SE. It would be part of their licensing agreement with Sony that you have to buy a separate copy for their platform so they can take a cut of the profits. Otherwise you would be playing a PC game on the PS3/4 that Sony got no money from.
There is absolutely zero chance you could play on all platforms with a single key. You will need to buy a separate copy for each platform.
You can't really compare XIV to XI. In XI you just had to buy an expansion once, you could then borrow a copy of it for the platform you didn't buy for, install it and be done with it. With XIV there's measures in place to make sure you really do own a copy for the platforms you intend to play on. I can see the point, it's to make sure your platforms can access all the areas and have all the data. Parity, if you will. In XI it was easy to forget that you don't have access to certain areas if all you ever updated was one install yet maintained multiple. Is it a cash grab, you can say that but if you really like this game then it shouldn't be too much trouble. Is it annoying, heck yes. Annoying and inane.
You'll be moved to your natural home point (limsa/grid/ul'dah), the drk stuff will be in the game for people without the expansion (else how can you play with a drk tank if you don't got the expansion?) so no issues there, you just won't have the actual files for the expansion areas to be able to log in there.
most likely as you have to buy the pc version if you play on ps4/3 and vice versa but do what people did when FFXIV arr came out buy the CE of one ps4 for example and the NE of the other and you can play on both and still have all the collector stuff i dont think they would make a universal edtion that work on all versions
Punctuation, Please use it.most likely as you have to buy the pc version if you play on ps4/3 and vice versa but do what people did when FFXIV arr came out buy the CE of one ps4 for example and the NE of the other and you can play on both and still have all the collector stuff i dont think they would make a universal edtion that work on all versions
I wanna know where you get this year from....
so no it isn't a 2006 game with 2006 practicesFFXI was released in Japan on May 16, 2002, for Sony's PlayStation 2, and for Microsoft's Windows-based personal computers in November of that year.
