Can't you guys wait till the new race comes out and we see all the customization options?

Saying it's boring or bland is a matter of opinion and taste, saying it's lazy is a matter of team resource distribution.
You're saying that in your opinion Au'ra is bland, boring, and disappointing correct? You use the term "lazy" I assume in reference to the artists & models.
I'm telling you that opinions can be argued either way. I don't think Au'ra is bland or boring. Personally I think the artists are working within established themes of Eorzea with the Au'ra; and they look good.
They also have to contend with their designs being feasible - as in within the realm of possibility for the already limited memory that has been taxing a relatively small team of developers.
Apparently despite having worked in a similar environment you can't see why certain design choices are being made...

Excuse me but i did no such thing. I called you a child because you are acting as one. Please tell when disagreeing with someone is insulting.
I just came into this thread to see how people are reacting to the new race, I don't dislike it, but there are some little bits and pieces about their design I could nit pick. On this note though I haven't seen anything childish in any of Krr's posts yet :/ Although you did seem quick to call them childish rather quickly for expressing their displeasure over the development of the new race. This could easily be seen as rude so it's not really a surprise Krr got defensive, you're demeaning attitude towards the people disagreeing with you is escalating things not calming them, which is something I associate more with childhood than adulthood as well. :/
On a serious note I think all Krr is trying to say is that this company is making countless millions from us, if their art design team is only 20ish people for a game netting millions every month and the result is work that isn't quite up to par or as amazing as it could be...would it be unorthodox for them to allocate more funds towards the development team? A game this large that pulls in such a large amount of resources could afford to do better.
I will be trying Au Ra when it comes out, I'm especially curious with how they will make it work. I won't knock it until I try it, but it's not that hard to see where Krr is coming from, a small cup of understanding goes a long way to prevent a flame war.
Non, I think we are at a misunderstanding of semantic now. I say it is boring, bland, and lazy as a matter of opinion, but also based off the fact that the proportions of the characters are not that different from human women already in the game. This is at contrast with the male Au Ra, which display a much different and distinct look from other men in the game with a top-heavy inverted triangle build and much more prominent muscle texturing - even distinct from Roegadyn men who while muscular, tend to be more box-shaped.
Essentially, the female Au Ra could be significantly different from human women in ways that the male Au Ra are significantly different from human men - but they aren't, and not as a matter of technical difficulty, proven by example in what the model team has already made in the past.
The visual design choice isn't one being made of technological limitation - it's one being made out of a fear to take perceived risks with character design.

video games are bad
All i want to say is im happy with the race and i love how its shivas descendants.
In Bold, that's why the Au Ra race bothers me. Males = Elezen+Roegadyn(+doofy looking horns) and females = Elezen/Midlander Hyur with horns. Also, when I first saw the female Au Ra, I thought I was looking at Serah Farron from FFXIII. They definitely did try to make the males look slightly different, but with females... not really.
Also, Au Ra are from Othard. Has there been any word of God confirming they're descendants of Shiva's?
