Just habit because I prefer Win 7 over 8.
Yeah you can assemble your PC there and then they ship the parts for you to put it together. Lots of fun.

Oh boy this shall be fun x_x lol I will see about doing that >_< I just hope i don't break anything trying to put stuff together >_< Been ages since I have actually taken a computer apart @_@ Let alone put one together.
and yeah Windows 8 I am iffy about. I prefer windows 7 over anything. 8 just seems too cluster and annoys my slight case of OCD >_>

It's not hard to build a PC, just need to mount the PSU and mobo in their respective areas in the case, then pretty much put each part into their respective slots. As long as you aren't being rough with the parts you won't break them.
As for Windows 8, it's actually a bit more efficient in overall performance (it actually uses less processing power and RAM than Windows 7. W8 runs on a near decade old desktop I have, but 7's base requirements are too high for it). The UI is the only detrimental part of W8 really. I'm a W7 man myself haha. If you don't like the UI of 8 I'd say go with 7, the performance difference isn't big at all on modern rigs and you get the luxury of not having to deal with the start screen.

Alienware has a new device that is like a console that you can steam on. It's called the Alpha. Supposed to be powerful with an Intel I3, I5, or I7 depending on what you choose. Might be an option if you want PC power on your big screen.

Yeah I saw previews and watched a few videos on it, didnt seem that appealing to me. Im not going to be a big steam person. Just mainly wanting a gaming PC that runs FFXIV and maybe another couple of games here and there, nothing too fancy. Also will be using it for making music. sooo lol

I am planning to get this and start working on it from there. Said to be a decent machine for what I plan to use it for.

Plus is pretty sweet looking and can be customized later on in which I intend to do.

Or perhaps "darn PSN won't log me in again, time to PC it!"
~Terra-chan~

EXACTLY MY REASON!! Lol, i am just fed up with Sony and getting 90k's from lag issues as of late =/ I have tried playing it on PC before and it was significantly better, less latency in actions and such, even with me rebuilding the PS4's data base which i recently learned about and how to do. It helped my lagging slightly but not all that much. =/
Also PC I can get more MMO's, wont have to worry about using a crappy old phone to use Teamspeak, etc etc.
Lets just say that the final straw has been drawn this past 4 days when PSN was under attack and DDOSed and I missed my raid day with my group and helping them get their clear of T9, AND THEN I try to log in two hours after raid and I log in just fine... was so mad. =/
