You can get the minion and one of the gear pieces in the first day. (I did.)

Doing it just two days, you can get the minion, all the gear, and have a few stars left over for food items or gift bags. It's only if you want all the housing items as well that you would do the event more than twice. In that case, 6 days gets you everything. Anything past that is just for additional gift bags or duplicates of the housing items.

As for how the event is overall, I think I agree with Nalien. You have to go to three different cities just to repeat the exact same simple quest, of just touching someone's tree and coming back to give a kid an (unidentified) gift. I did rather like the "Going the Extra Smile" quest (the one with Timothy after completing each of the three dailies for the first time), but there isn't much else in this event that's worth recommending. Most of the other special events this game has had involved actually doing stuff, and were far more appealing.

Can't agree more, LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS EVENT SO MUCH. Doing stuffs on my Alt to get all the housing items for the Free Company

Also - what do you make of this: Certain seasonal goods attainable via daily quests will become available on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. (PST)

(What will we be able to buy at that time and how many Fallen Stars will we need?

I like that it seems to be a "test" for a new type of quest. AFAIK we've never seen the "branching quest reward" function before now.

Some of you are downers, i love pretty much most events SE add.
Hands down they do an awesome job decorating the areas as well.
The Biggest plus, and perhaps a first to this game also no fates required for the Starlight event, that deserves an applause, haha

People keep knocking the FATE usage without realizing that most of the seasonal events don't use FATEs, except halloween which made unique use of it. The reason we associate events with FATEs is that all the crossover events and most of the first year events made use of them.
If you're gonna be made about recurring themes, all the events including the crossover events involve newspaper reporters -_-

I really always dislike "dailies". It's like you are 'forced' to do them because if you miss a day you are suddenly behind everyone else and have permanently lost that chance of gaining something that day. I really enjoyed the other seasonal events but this one has me grabbing my santa suit, tights and boots and not doing anymore =/

I hope it's a test for more Housing-centric events, because that's the really great thing about this event. Hopefully they iron out the bugs and actually remember Subdivisions for the next event...

I find the daily quest boring, but I liked the story (even though it was a bit too short).
