Apologies if this has been asked (and answered before), but I'm just curious : The Allied Seals one gets upon completing the Daily/Weekly hunts, are they only able to be earned via the Hunt or is there a alternate means of earning them?

no hunts are sadly the only way to get them
Damn... well, thanks for the reply ElieDavion. Just grinding away at the hunt each day (earn about 224 seals each week, 50 more with the weekly hunt) to amass enough seals to get what I want is 'grinding' on me... sorry, bad pun. I've heard that in a hunt party, helping others with their weekly hunts nets you some seals as well. Don't know if that's true or not though...
The only thing that helping others with their weekly hunts gains you is the appreciation of whoever you're helping (which may be useful if you then want them to help you with your own weekly as well).
Hunt parties are usually about going after A and S rank hunts, which aren't associated with the Daily or Weekly targets. (They don't even require having unlocked the Daily/Weekly Hunt system.) You can go after as many A and S ranks as you can find and take down. Hunt parties usually go from one A rank to another to another to another, getting 20 tomes and 20 seals from each, and occasionally may be lucky enough to find or spawn an S rank as well, which gives even more. Just keep in mind that it generally takes a full party (or equivalent) to take down an A rank and at least two or three full parties to take down an S rank. (Having more than that will make it a lot easier, though.)
Party's do help. Taking down A or S hunts will net more including tomes. However you need alot of people. Alot of people got off the hunt kick. Usually see the A or S hunts just standing there no one around, send out shouts and no one shows up, or the party is too small to take it down.
Just look out on the linkshells for A and S-rank, 20 and 50 seals respectively
On Odin with have 3 active hunting LinkShells, with about 100-150 online hunters during the majority of the day.
Meaning we spot A & S Rank Hunts in a matter of minutes after they spawn (or force spawn them if they're able to (S Rank))
From 2 pm to 12 am you can expect 15-40 people to show up for all A Rank and 50-300 people for S Rank hunts.
Considering A Rank give 20 Tomestones of Soldiery + 20 Allied Seals & S Rank give 50 Tomestones of Soldiery + 50 Allied seals + 10 Tomestones of Poetics... It goes fast to get geared. Especially since you got 2-3% chance of dropping a Blood-Spattered Log.
I went from 50 average ilv to 110 in like a week. I just had to go into Syrcus Tower 3 times (and earned 2 UAT) for the weap.
Being in a party helps to earn full credit (ie 20 Allied / 20 Sold on A Rank). I heard the reward scales off aggro, so if you can play a tank class, do it
Good hunt!

I'm just curious what folks buy with their allied seals. I haven't done too many hunts can' remember, off the top of my head, what your gc hunt guy sells.
